I attempted to put up an introduction post just to introduce myself and get to know the other members on the boards and my post was pulled down for 'seeming like an ad'. There was nothing that I could tell on my post that appeared to be 'ad-like' so I'm really confused as to what I did wrong.

I know direct pics aren't allowed, you're supposed to put a link to another website. Maybe that's what I did wrong....put a link up with a pic of me?

If someone could enlighten me, I'd greatly appreciate it

...with a link to you web site or an ad. TER posting guidelines say you are not allowed too post a link to your info when your post initiates a thread. Since it was an introduction I assume you weren't replying to someone. Your post was "first". You can't place your link in it in that case. You can place your link in your reply to someone else. You also can't place your photo in any post on any discussion board. You may place photos in an ad on your TER regional ad board or on the photo only board.

Read the Self-Help Center on the upper right under the red & white life preserver. You will find ad posting info there. Also check the discussion board guidelines also on the upper right.

Also as a newbie your posts (all of them) are checked by board admin before being allowed to post. You can ask to have this removed after a month or so by showing you can follow posting rules.

In your post that is why it was removed. You can link to them in a response but not when you start a thread. Check out the self help center there is a lot of good info there

* Do not include a picture in your post unless you are posting on an ad board, photo board or special theme day thread on another board.

* If you start a new thread on a board, do not include a link to your website.

* If you reply to a post on a board, feel free to include a link to your website. Just make sure website has a TER logo somewhere on it that links back to TER.

ADS & ISO POSTS  
 
Ads are not allowed on the TER General Boards.  Any provider's post that contains a picture of the provider, will be considered an ad.  
   
In Search Of posts should be posted on the ISO board, Porn Stars board, Transsexual board or Regional board.  Providers, any response to an ISO,  must include a link to either your personal website, your TER review profile, or directly to your ad on an escort mall.    
 
Ads may only be posted on the appropriate Ad Boards.  
 
Providers may not include a link to their website/web ad when starting a thread.

If it appears you are promoting yourself.  Save the introduction for your ter ad and just reply to other threads or start a thread just not about yourself.
