Remember most established providers want a level of comfort before they agree to meet with a new client.

With as many providers as I know making themselves aware of personality traits and human behavior, I definitely wouldn't advise lying. A detection of deception by a provider towards a new client would definitely be cause for her refusal to see you. (*More so than your actual age*)

As a provider if I sense deception I could care less who you are, what you do for a living or who you know. I don't make it a habit to knowingly see hobbyists who practice deception.

I had considered lying but figured this wasn't a good idea.  Most people say that I look 18, so I usually expect to get carded and wouldn't want to be caught with egg on my face (rather than with my pants down).  Also, I wouldn't want to add to the initial tension present when a provider and hobbyist first meet by introducing a lie that would most likely be revealed.  Whenever I tried to lie about my age when I was younger, I would always freeze whenever someone asked what year I was born, no matter how much I practiced.

Also, what if we really click?  I would have to remember to keep my story straight on subsequent visits.  Or I could risk falling in her esteem if I no longer wanted to continue with the deception and came clean (no pun intended).

Oh yeah, and there's that thing called principle.    Yes, I believe providers and hobbyists have principle and that their principles are more defined than those on the outside. (Of course this excludes ROBs and flakes.  Darn those few rotten apples.)
