Hey, im very new to this and was wondering if its safe to call from my own phone.  also worried because i keep seeing messages saying providers text clients on their phones.. which is very risky for me.  I dont have an extra phone as some do.

Thoughts?  Thanks

If it is risky for you to receive unsolicited calls or texts from providers on your personal phone then you really need to go out and buy a "hobby" phone.  It is just much safer to have a separate phone for the hobby.  With a prepaid hobby phone you don't have to worry about unsolicited calls and texts, or questions from the wife or girlfriend about called numbers on the phone bill.

I have a prepaid Tracfone from Wal-Mart.  Got the phone on sale for around $15 and it costs around $20 every other month to keep it active with a new airtime card.  I keep the phone turned off unless I am actively hobbying.

I also use tracfone bought with cash, refills bought with cash.  It's a decent Motorola phone.  I also keep it shut off & put away when I'm not hobbying.  I clear the calls after use.  (Ask Tiger)

Using a normal phone leaves tracks even if you don't get itemized call records... they are still there & can be retrieved.  If you can afford to hobby, you can afford this.

You should also use a free e-mail account not connected to your regular e-mail.

Do not use your credit card somewhere you're not supposed to be.

Gas your car the day before.

Buy your coffee & muffin with cash.

Do not use your work computer or network to view adult sites.  Do not use your home computer when anyone else is home.

Right now, before you make that first call...  promise yourself you will not do anything stupid.  (That's my pledge to myself.)  The more I read, the more I realized I'd just been lucky.  "Luck is not a plan."  Do not be sloppy.  Sloppy people are caught, when it hits the press it makes all wives suspicious!

Despite our best efforts some day some screw up may surface.  When nothing else can be found, it's just thought of as an odd coincidence.  If the tracks are found to confirm it, you are screwed.

I use my regular phone but I don't have a wife to worry about.

On using your personal phone, If the provider is busted, can't LE obtain your personal phone number from her client list and trace it back to you? At least thats what I heard and why I have hobby phone

I suppose they could but I just don't worry about things like that. It seems kind of unlikely to me but maybe I'm wrong.

that she might have your number?

Your number in her phone isn't proof of anything.
You're a plumber and she called about a backed up drain in her shower...

You're a contractor and she called for you come and give an estimate on a fence...

a woman can call a man for any number of reasons, a phone number in a phone even a number of times, isn't proof of anything other than a phone call was made or received. (unless the police recored the call and that seems unlikely)

Basically what would have to happen is over a misdemeanor charge, against her, the police would have to subpoena her phone records, see how many calls went to her from you, and to you from her, as well as every other number in her phone...

then they would have to subpoena all of the phone companies, for all of the records of all of the numbers she called or that called her...

and all of this would get them...not a damn thing since prostitution is one of those crimes like public drunkenness you have to be caught in the act...

So, I really, really doubt that LE is going to go to all that trouble to find a client they won't be able to charge, or to prove a charge against a woman that will plead down to trespassing or a similar charge and pay a fine.

Yes it can be traced back to your phone, but they have to established that you did something wrong.

Main rule just talk in General over the phone and  emails and your good.

What I recommend is for you to watch the STFU..video.  Very informative video on exercising your right to remain silent.

When you say "your own phone", am I correct that you mean a home land line?  Regardless, you will need a cellphone to hobby, even if it's just a disposable that you can pick up at minimal cost from just about about anywhere.  Personally, I don't see why anyone today doesn't have a smart phone that enables you to not only take and recieve calls and texts anywhere, but also allows access to your e-mail accounts, and the Web as well.
