Has any of you guys used backpage.com to find a date? A lot of pictures look really good. Are they bait and switch?

but only if you're looking for a long term relationship. And yes, they do have a section where you can buy bait and switches. Careful, now... some of the dates you find may look like fish bait.

 From time to time there's normal people, if you read the ads very well. And even though people always bash it, there's still several women who are legitimately a good time who advertise on there. Maybe they don't make it public information but they do.  
   
 If they have been reviewed they will put their ID on their ad.

There's false advertising everywhere, dropping hundreds per month on advertising isn't for everyone.

well-reviewed by hobbyists with multiple reviews over time, then move on unless you are very experienced and can sniff out the BS.

I start my research HERE.  You are doing your research arse backwards.  You are missing the whole point of TER.  I'll follow ad links where ever they lead & look at the pictures.  I'll read the complete reviews.   If you are starting on ANY AD VENUE, you'll be wasting a lot of time or taking more risk than I care to.    
Have you even read the self help section?  How about reading the newbie board?  There is tons of information there.

A good number of well respected and reviewed providers do use BP as an advertising method that does gather lots of looks.   So do rip off artists, B&S folks, and LE.  
Do your research, check the photos, and use all the tools available to you including those on the back of your neck.   If it sounds too good then it definitely is.  
Verify thru multiple methods before you trust your freedom.

I'm assuming there are other gals who do the same. Some also throw ads up every now and again to drum in some new clients, then take the ad down.

I've booked Riley Steele, BeBe, Samantha Saint and Jessie Rogers all for a $150 fee, they did each upsell me to $600 and neither one of them looked like their pics, I actually think that they were not their pics. Hmmmm seems like a good deal, right. Stupid is as stupid does.

none of the women posting on Backpage will have calendars for you to have to check their schedules.
none of the women on Backpage will have a reservation form.
you'll basically go on there pick up the girl you like chances are she'll be younger and cheaper than the women on here.
most the women on there they may ask for a week the mascot for a month they're not in it as a career or life decision like everyone on here is.
none of those girls are ever going to spend money on a website or professional photos.
people on this website all have professional schedules like professional business people
reservation forms expensive fancy glamour model photos
expensive fancy web sites all types of etiquette and what not.
you could probably show up at half of those girls hotels actually a lot of them probably have motels not hotels.
you could probably show up and have a really bad smelling fart and they wouldn't tell you out of bed.

Backpage is an ad mall. Nothing more. Many scams, robs, bait and switches and even LE stings. But also some honest good providers on there. I have seen some TER top 100 ladies advertising on BP. I have seen ladies with ads on GLS and add on BP at the same time. As Cosette said it depends where you are. In some places in the country it is actually the best or even the only resource. In other places you don't want to touch it with a 20 foot pole. The key with Backpage is knowing HOW to use it, and obviously you don't. You are not ready. This post should have been on the newbie board. (it is possible it may still get moved there). Either way, you need to spend some time on the newbie board. Read back a bunch of pages there. Also read the Self Help Center. (top of the page, near the life preserver)

I have a form, I have a calendar, I have a site that looks better than yours and I am not a last minute girl.  

I've been advertising on BP since I started three years ago.  
YES, I have thankfully met many great clients that I still continue to see!  
Yes, there are some clients I have seen that I will not see again!
YES, there are many bait & switch and sadly I think many trafficked girls/ladies on there.
YES, tons of fake ads, pics etc...

My pic has showed on on Portland and New Orleans Back page.  I have never worked those areas and have never posted an ad on Back page.  My pics were stolen and put on a false ad.......friends that were in those areas brought the ads to my attention.....

....I traveled to Colorado and Wyoming.  It is one of the few places to advertise in Wyoming, and the gentlemen I met in Cheyenne were all delightful, and booked multi hours.  

It depends on many factors, I post there in some areas and many of the men contacting me are TER guys.

With BP, it depends on your market area. Most of my clients find me through BP, and it's not all a bunch of negative things like some of the posters have mentioned.  It's part of my advertising arsenal, just like Eros, TER, Max Fisch, Slixa, and my own personal website are.  

Just do your research and only see well-reviewed ladies on this site.

agree there is a reason some have to use backpage. If you are in LA, NYC, Chicago, and any major city, no way in HELL I would ever use that site, but some small towns there is nothing else.  

I have found my ATF's (all time favorite) ads on BP but I originally located her through P411.
