I am a newbie and about to take the plunge. I have contacted some well reviewed providers and am verified through date check. Some providers whom I have contacted and set up appointments have truly verified my profile on date check while another provider has not, but has confirmed the appt anyways. Is this common? Is this not lax screening process? Or do they verify all the information on the last minute and cancel the appointment if info does not add up?

Some of us have more involved screening processes.  Others of us are more lax.

Many providers who do more rigorous screening will not willingly divulge her screening secrets to you...  Obviously, discussing "how screening works" on a Newbie discussion board would undermine the usefulness of screening.

I do think joining Date-Check is a good first step, though.

with on whatever verification site.

i am super safe and super paranoid.  lol
but i just had one gent which may be perfectly legit that got irritated with me and ended up saying he doesnt want to see me because of the "hassle".

well the only "hassle" was from asking him to email me from the email address that he signd up with on date-check.  (he had emailed me a date-check id number, and corresponded from 2 different email addresses but not the one he signed up with)

only giving the number that they give you on those verification sites means nothing to me, anybody could have stolen it, etc.

anyway, my rant is over :)

Maybe the e-mail address used for date-check is for the donut shop?
