So I asked a provider if she would provide me with a whitelist referral.
While she would love to do it, she has no idea how.

I myself just found out about the whitelist feature.

I tried to find it in the Newbie section, but there's nothing on that.
Would someone please give me a link to the instructions so I can forward it to her?

She logs into TER, and clicks on the top left corner MY TER, My Referrals, & submits  whitelist.

...in the Self-Help Center. Upper right of the message boards under the red & white life preserver. Click on Self-Help Center then click on "some info for providers". White list info is there.
