I am new to this whole thing.  I was curious as to how safe it really is when the providers are willing to do unprotected acts, such as BBBJ, CIM, etc?

and while the danger of STD's is not zero, most people on this site find them acceptably low.

You can find some articles that people occasionally link to that discuss risks in more detail by doing a search on the subject matter.

Only unprotected intercourse is taboo for reasons that should be pretty obvious.

If you have safety issues , Always use a condom.

I always ask while I move my lips in that direction. If it is to be protected I just grab a little something to use. Never do anything that makes you uncomfortable!

.. that the civvies I've been hooked up with in the last 20 years have included a large percentage of nurses and a couple of physicians.  None of them seemed too concerned about the 'danger of unprotected sex.'  
Sure, with a provider, intercorse (vaginal or anal) is a fully wrapped event.  Otherwise, I go for it.  But if you want a guarantee, buy a car with a warranty.  Even using a condom is NOT 100% safe.  The question becomes what is 'acceptable risk.'
