I am seriously considering taking up the hobby.  Found a provider on CL with 1 TER review. Reviewer rated her well and had about 30-40 other reviews for other providers.  I'm still tentative but tempted.  Am I still in a danger area considering only 1 review?  Please advise!

you are "still in a danger area considering only 1 review." I look for a lady with multiple pages, and minimum of 2, with many of the reviewers having been around awhile and posting many reviews.

While I don't necessarily need a minimum of two pages like the previous post, at least one page is preferred, with veteran reviewers. Since you're a newb, I think you should see a lady with more than one review. And make sure to do your homework no matter who you see. Good luck

us newbies have to struggle to make a name for ourselves. It took me about three reviews before the phones started ringing consistently. We need reviews to get business but without reviews it is hard to get business. And you need business to get reviews.

What a headache.

the provider.  If you aren't VIP, then become one.  The stock advice, which I 100% agree with, is that when a newbie, you should only see a provider who has multiple reviews from reviewers who have multiple reviews.

You're well on your way. Though it does remind me of how I felt as a teenager trying to get a job.

I've found a lot of great first reviews that might well have been posted by some friend.  I don't need pages of reviews but 4-6 by experienced reviewers.  
I expect some variation in reviews but if I'm looking at an average of 7, I'd expect to see a range of 6-7-8.  Wide swings...  particularly lower...  make me feel she's moody & with my luck I'll get her of a poor mood day!  LOL!

I use the TER "favorites" list to evaluate prospects.  
Ones I want to see, I add a note "bucket list".  Not enough reviews, I mark "hold, pending more reviews".
If I'm not interested, I'll mark "NO, & reason".

Your TER favorites can only be acessed when you are VIP but it doesn't go away if VIP expires.  Once you are VIP again, it's still right there.

Since you have checked & the 1 review was by an experienced reviewer, you might want to PM him.  Lacking that, I'd suggest you hold on this one & seeothers until you get more experience...  but keep her in your bucket list.

The sinngle reviewer has a good track record, or is personally known to me.

What sets off sirens is a gal with one review, and it's the one and only review the guy has written.  Put that one back in the oven and check back in a few weeks to see if it's a bit more baked.

As a newbie, I suggest that you NOT use CL listings. CL are filled with scams. Better to use TER on well reviewed providers. This will ensure a pleasant entry to this hobby.

taking the plunge with a well reviewed hence more experienced lady.  It is a little different than civie dating, and one of you with experience will make you more comfortable for you.

I also think I would be more comfortable with 5+ reviews of her. JMHO
