I'm stumped when asked during the screening process for an employer number that can be called to verify I work for the company I listed.  Its like providers still think of a company as a single building with a receptionist or HR department that can verify our employment.  I have not seen a receptionist is 20 years and HR is all online and in another city.  I honestly don't know who an outsider would contact to verify my employment.  My company is huge.  For mortgages i just used pay stubs.

I move on when this information is required.  Lee's company asked for this.  Anybody who gave it out must be pretty nervous, despite his assertions of the security of that info.

You were asked about employment because you do not have references, correct? What other way would you expect a lady to verify you then? On a smile and a promise?  

Those saying move on most likely have an additional avenue where they can verify their safety, i.e. p411/references..etc. Perhaps consider a verification site p411 or rs2k, depending on where you are located. If you do not have any verifiable information that a companion could use and would not be interested in giving neither the lady nor a service your info, think of the type of provider that would be willing to see you without anything (employment screening, verification memberships, OR references). Tread lightly.

so if your employment can not be verified, some providers will think of alternative screening.  I had to give up my land line number...  not to call...  but I figured she did reverse look up on to check me out.   Everything was golden & I still see her when I'm in her town, some 6 years later.

If you have references, or are screened through some service (some even if you don't have references), you shouldn't be asked this question. But you don't want to see someone who will meet just anyone. They are desperate, stupid, or LE.

Sorry, but our lives are on the line here, and you are coming to us for service...not the other way around. If you don't want to provide the info. or can't be verified, your options are limited. That's just the way it is. Personally, I do not see self employed hobbyists unless he is a self employed doctor, attorney, or dentist which I can easily google and also see his photo in many cases. We have had a slew of cops posing as Real Estate Agents in the last few years, and quite frankly I had a fake one try to lease me a damn condo!  

It's simply not worth the hassle or risk.

I understand everyone's point.  I do have TER reviews for a few TS girls but they never respond to emails or phone call from other providers.  TS girls usually don't ask for references so I guess they dont feel obligated to return the favor.  I'm not as active as years before so that also hurts when past encounters are months ago.  But i understand the LE fear since I have the same concern.  Thanks for the inputs (so to speak).
