it is certainly worth a shot (at least to some providers).

There's been some discussion here about the economy hitting the hobby and I had an idea to throw out.  Rather than lower prices, which providers are understandably loathe to do, increase the length of the appointment.  For example, a lady who charges $600 an hour could promote a two or three hour "date" for the same amount.  To keep it under control, she could do what the airlines do -- add: subject to availability, seats are limited.  If a guy sounds dull or creepy during the phone screening, the offer can be gracefully yanked.

From a hobbyist perspective, there are plenty of $600 providers I'd love to see.  But I shy away because I know the appointment will be up in 59 minutes and 59 seconds.  If things don't work in that tiny hour, I'd be a putz.  Giving a hobbyist more time at the same price is an inducement.  I'd go for it in a heartbeat.  There's the potential for two pops, having time to go out for a drink and get a charge from being seen with a goregous woman, whatever.  What this does is turn a providers excess time during a slow period into an inducement to get clients like me in the door.  I would think twice about $600 for 59 minutes, but not for a few hours.  There are different pricing structures that could be toyed with:  Buy one, get the second one half price.  Buy two, the third is free.   Now, I know this sounds silly and this is a professional service being rendered.  All I'm saying in adapting the pricing techniques from other businesses could be a good thing in tough times.  IMHO.  Comments?

In a few months, if biz continues to be slow, maybe. But all it takes is "one Joe" to pay full fare and everybody will believe that things are still biz as usually. For some indies or agencies, offering a lower fare is like surrendering their family jewels to the bottom feeders. Better suffer and hope for an economic turnaround to save them then lower the $$$ tag. Supply and demand saids that prices should be lowered with the number of out-of-towners coming thru. But like I said, all a lady needs is one Joe to give the fare up. IMHO

your definetly right, even auto buyers can get zero financing to entice business. It blows my mind how some still chrge $500+. I know that its quality not quantity, but even bmw's are being discounted. Theres pricing pressure everywhere.

Sounds like a decent idea.  $ 600 still sounds high to me but a little lower for someone gorgeous and I would consider it for a few hours.

My rates are $300 for up to 2 hours and $400 for 3-4 hours.
This increases the level of customer satisfaction for sure!

I'll be back in Manhattan in the next week or two for all my friends asking.

Potential new friends check my web site out and some pictures from last week on http://www.eros-boston.com .

I totally agree with your philosophy and it has helped me build a nice regular clientele.  People know our time is unrushed and discrete which fosters trying new things.

See my favorite guys soon!
