I'm coming to NYC soon and as I look at reviews and try to figure out where ladies are located I get confused.  I'm staying in Manhattan, but what are the differences among mid-town, mid-town east, upper east side, etc.  I don't want to get too far away from my place on west 57th .  Thanks

Basically the smaller the avenue number the further east you are, with 5th ave being the dividing line between "east" and "west." On the east side, numbering is a little easier with street numbers less than 200 are between 5th and 3rd ave, and numbers 200 and bigger being east of 3rd. The west side I'm not as familiar. I know that the east 50s has a lot of places to go. Perhaps the west 50s as well? I just don't go over there that much.

. At West 57th you are a cross town cab ride to all the neighborhoods you mentioned. No big deal.

from west 57th..You will also be near central park which is always nice:)

Manhattan is really not as big as people think ..There is always the cab for a quick ride or a nice walk to see all the pretty ladies this city as to offer. You can always do incall as most ladies are familiar with anonymity while walking through the hotel as we are very use to being indiscrete

W 57th is the upper (northernmost) end of "Midtown West".  Very convenient and easy to get other neighborhoods with attractions you might be interested in visiting. :-)

google "NYC neighborhoods" for a variety of maps or click the one I'm including here.

Wiki gives specific boundaries for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Manhattan_neighborhoods

Technically, it's part of Mid-Town, but right in the center.  Lots of hotels.  Also full of tourists, but it means the hotel lobbies are always full and it's good cover for lurking until she gives you her room #.

were located in different areas of the city, instead of the typical Midtown East or Midtown West....

We've got such a great city.. Why not the Financial District, Tribeca or the East Village? I know there are ladies spread all over the place, it's just so typical to be in East or West Midtown. I know some will probably say E or W Midtown is ideal because it's centrally located or because the transportation is ideal, but i think the idea of visiting a gal in, let's say the Flatiron District would be pretty cool because afterwards there's a lot of cool walking around and eating spots. Midtwon East or West seems so touristy / business hub central to me. Ehhh, that's just my opinion.

Midtown, depending on how 'west' you are. Simply use google maps and it will pull up Manhattan easily and the various neighborhoods. Very easy to learn and get around in the city.

Enjoy.

Recommendation, take a cab or public bus (no subway) down to the lower west side, awesome and completely different feel than Midtown (very very touristy). But take the woman you see for a walk in the park...I'm sure she'd love it, especially this time of year at sundown.

Dear CreamPuffCandyPantsLoveMonkey:  I've heard of the Lower East Side but never the Lower West Side.  No such place, really.  Perhaps you mean the West Village, Chelsea, SoHo or TriBeCa?  All nice places to visit, for sure.  But never known as the Lower West Side.

know Manhattan, it's a way to describe all those areas. He wouldn't know from SOHO, where the fuck that was now would he.

Yes I know it doesn't exist. It's my own terminology. Get over it. It's to help someone who doesn't know NYC....you forgot that's who is questioning. Not a Manhattanite.

Central Park is fabulous. Only those who think like that get mugged, duh............hahahahahha, don't come to NY, that's my advice. I walk around all times of night, no biggie. If you look like you're 'scared' fuck yea, someone's gonna do something, if you walk like it's noone's business, you won't be bothered. Don't believe the hype BIB...it's a city like everything else. Hell, you could get mugged in a park in any place in the US, don't kid yourself. Seriously?

To all of you who responded thank you.  I have a good idea now when I look at ads where someone is located and how close they may be to me.  I can plan accordingly.

Yes, and if you come to NY and ask a Manhattanite where the "lower West Side" is, their eyes will cross.  But if you ask them now to get to SoHo or Chelsea, you'll get where you want to go.  It's as simple as that.

generalization until he got to learn the areas before his arrival, nothing more. Ayayayayayayaya, I give up. Nevermind.

Now to the gentleman posting...have a great trip and enjoy the city.

"The lower West side of Manhattan" it wouldn't have seemed odd.  Honestly, I'm not looking to be a dick here, I've really just never seen anyone refer to it as "the lower west side" and it seemed odd.  (I was born on the Upper East Side.)  These geographic references to Manhattan are so frequently used that UES and UWS are code for Upper East Side and Upper West Side.  Oddly, even though the Lower East Side is a well known descriptor, no one I know shortens it to LES.  Go figya.
