Some of what is written above re:AMPs, a sting operation in Nassau a few years back where the DA was trying to make a name for herself and LE not only arrested but outed the names of a bunch of clients in the media.   Shady agencies.  Corruption in the PD in Suffolk which has since been "rooted" out thus offering less "protection" from prosecution.  Yadda yadda yadda.  Plus the honey pot of all money pots (Manhattan) is an hour or 2 away via LIRR so why trek out to lower populated Nassau and Suffolk when you can get double to triple the volume and less nickle and diming in NYC.  From what I have heard from several ladies is that mouth breathing Long Islanders are always looking for a "deal" 15 minutes or 30 minute "dates", unwillingness by a lot of clients to screen due to aforementioned LE history.  So you get a lot of bottom feeders and BP gals serving the market.  (Not to denigrate those fine ladies who still do serve the Island -- believe me, a bunch if us appreciate you!)  Thank you for all the kind PMs and messages.  Its not a complete wasteland, its getting a little better.  But all these reasons and a few more answer your question?  Look back in this New York forum for the past 5 -6 years and read.  You'll get the history.
