How would you feel if a client showed you a report from his physician indicating he tested negative for HIV very recently?
Would that make you feel more at ease or would it just put a unnecessarily negative vibe in the air?   Would it make the session seem even more business-like and further destroy any illusion of fantasy?

Honestly it wouldn't make a bit of difference. Just because someone can produce a negative hiv test means nothing. I have no way of knowing that immediately after he had his blood drawn that he had risky sex with an infected person. It takes 7-14 days to get results and the only way that you are 100% certain is if after you test you abstain from risky activities. Then you get your results (negative for arguements sake) you then wait 3 months (the window period that it takes for your body to actually produce antibodies against the virus, the antibodies are what they test for) then you take another test. If that one is negative then you can be pretty certain your not infected. Problem is how many guys or gals do this? Also there is just no way to tell that the person who has been tested is telling you the truth about not engaging in risky behavior for that 3 month period or even the time it takes between getting the blood drawn and getting the results. Not to mention that these tests can be faked. All you'd have to do is get a negative test from someone white out their name and make a copy, then just type in your name and make another copy. Sorry my life is too important to me to take that chance. This is of course my take on it, perhaps other ladies feel differently.

sidenote_ look at the porn industry and what they are going through. I heard someone say that the problem was because the Elisa test was used (the one that is basically initially used for everyday people like us) The best test is the PCR test (a DR. can tell it much better than me) it actually tests for the virus (and measures how much of it you have in your blood) and not just the antibodies like the elisa. Problem is is the cost. I'm told the only way most insurance will pay for the PCR test is if you have had a positive Elisa. They do the Elisa first because it is the cheapest way to do it. I was an hiv pre and post test counselor back in 96 so things might have changed but not much to alter most of what I've said. Perhaps someone with an MD who is much more qualified than me can add to this.

you are aboslutely correct and it stinks to wait so long cause well some people are just to horny, butto be honest with you i have been into this hobby for about 3 years and i think all of us who visit and many providers i think alot of us understand the risks of this hobby...

Well if they dont understand the risks then I suggest a walk through one of the various aids wards all hospitals have these days, no discrimination there. Thing is your not just playing with your life your playing with the life of your s/o and if she is pregnant your unborn child as well! Sad but true. Know the facts, calculate the risks and decide what risks are worth taking. Possibilty versus probability is what I always say.
Personally I don't have unprotected intercourse even with my significant other. I'd like to think that no boyfriend of mine would ever cheat but most of my clients are married so who am I kidding? Not to mention I truly believe what comes around goes around, you do right and it comes back, your a low life and your life will ne low. Just my take on things. Ying with the yang and all!

As I said before Samantha, I think you very clearly delineated the issues involved in HIV testing and proved to be quite articulate in doing so.  However, I was dismayed to hear that you still use condoms with your s/o.  I'd like to still think there is enough trust between partners that the use of condoms is not necessary.  But I supposed from your perspective, no one can be trusted to be 100 per cent monogamous.  I certainly was during my marriage.  BUt in your line of work, you have a totally different perspective.  That makes me wonder if a civilian meets someone who used to be a provider, can they ever have a fully trusting relationship?  The provider will asssume that her "happily married" parnter is still seeing women on the side because her experience is that happily married men still see providers.  He will always be suspicious that since she once was a provider, perhaps she will still see clients on the side.  Once tainted by this business, always stained?

I understand what you mean but think about it. Of the married men here who see providers (most of you or at the least a great deal of you) how many of your wives would bet the bank that you were being completely faithful?

I have had 3 relationships in my life that lasted around 3-4 years each and I would have bet the bank (at that time anyway) that each and everyone of them never cheated on me, even to this day I think thay have all been faithful even w/o marriage)

In my personal sex life w my s/o we tend to have quite a bit of forplay so much in fact that penetration isn't always needed or even wanted all the time. Still at this stage of time I'm still inclined to totally protect myself when it's time for intercourse or Greek. That's not to say that after I'm no longer in the biz and if we remain together a substancial amount of time things might change. For now though I'd rather play it safe than sorry. As should you guys. Remember it's up to you to decide what risks you are willing to take.
