I am very tired of reading the same old bullshit is the reviews.  The juicy details are not that juicy and they generally fail to offer insight into the experience.  How many times can you receive the greatest blow job of your life?  There are too many times that i have met a woman whose body went through obvious childbirth and yet there is not a review out there discussing her stretch marks and flapjack mammaries.  It's not that I have a problem with that but I would rather know this fact in advance rather than be surprised.  Also, how the hell can you not tell if a woman has been enhanced by medical science?  To me, this is an important fact for I prefer natural knockers.  Not reporting an obvious piercing or tattoo is also a sure sign that it is a fake review.

it could be that you are doing a tremendous amount of research and vetting so that you are only seeing the best of the best.  but the sad truth is that without a real revamping of the ratings, TER (being the best source on the internet) is losing a bit of its credibility

You shouldn't take individual reviews literally. What I look at is the consistency of reviews. If the average is >6 then it's a go.

that is for the moderators to answer....the shillers are clearly recognizable....just go through their review history...the fakes usually have a single review

Just see who the guys are that are always giving out 9/10's.  When I see that type of history I know it's fantasy.

If you see a guy that has a mix, some 6's and 7's and one or two 10's you can get comfortable that he's being honest.

... I don't pay attention to the labels, only the number. There is no such thing as "once in a lifetime" just like there is no such thing as "the most beautiful" but there is such a thing as "I have never been with a woman more beautiful. AS beautiful, yes. But more beautiful, no". That is my top level and I call it a 10. Then there is a 9 which to me is simply the next best thing to a 10 and so on down the line. Highly subjective of course but that is the nature of rating appearance. So I say ... get over the labels. Make up your own.

we are not here to make up our own ratings system....they provide a ranking criteria and that is what I try to follow...so how am i to judge what you are thinking when you are not working within the guideline provided

When there is chemistry between me and a provider and we had a great session, it's very tough to rate her a 6 in appearance because she will take it as a personal insult and, if she knows I am the one who did it, may not see me again (there's a post on the Chicago board about something similar happening to a hobbyist). I don't believe admitting to this undermines the validity of my reviews, though. I think when someone looks at my reviews and sees a 7 they really believe is a 6, they will adjust their perception accordingly based on photos. I certainly wouldn't rate a 6 in the real world a 9 on the boards, but I might inflate a little. Also in terms of inflating performance, I think in the after glow of a session, it's hard to put the fun in perspective. If I had a great time that exceeded my expectations, it feels like it may well have been the best bj of my life- until I get another just as great.

So are you suggesting we all take a vow as one to review honestly, without concern of being able to see a provider again, and eventually the girls will come around?

In my experience I have been fooled by inflated reviews. Heather Jana, review to come. Consistent 8s, 9s, even 10s for looks. Very flattering photos, then in person an average face and very dumpy girl. Did all these reviewers really find her model material or once in a lifetime? A great session doesn't make the lady more attractive. A little inflation for the sake of the provider's feeling I can see, blatant shills giving a 5 or 6 tops a 9 is just ridiculous.

Most people don't need someone to rate someone's appearance.  They can just look at the pictures.

Of course this assumes the pictures are real.  And that her face isn't blurred.  But even in the latter case you can get a very good idea.

Also, what makes you think posting about this will have any effect on how others review?

In my opinion the ratings are based on PROVIDERS. Obviously, AJ doesn't have a profile on TER. The 9's and 10's are what the best that TER has to offer at her asking price and should not be compared to models in the civie world. If you see a $500 provider with 9's 10's then she might be one of the best available at that price point. Obviously, a $2000 provider with 9-10's will be much better looking. They deserve the 9-10's compared to unreviewed PROVIDERS inside the bp world.

One can't call BS on a review unless the person making the call has seen the lady.

With all due respect, when I read posts like this one, it makes me want to pound my head into the pavement with a sledgehammer. The purpose of a review is not to cozy up to a provider. The purpose is to provide accurate consumer insight for other prospective hobbyists. What's the definition of a shill review? One with a quid pro quo attached to it (a discount, or the promise—stated or otherwise—of a better session next time, etc.). If you're afraid a provider won't see you again because of something you write in the review, or because you truthfully rate her a 6 instead of an 8, then either don't reveal your handle to her in the first place or review under a different handle. And don't mention any specific details of the session that could lead back to you. Also, post the review a few weeks after the session. But, if you're afraid of offending a provider by being truthful in a review, admit that you're a shill reviewer and don't bother. You're doing more harm to the hobbying community than you realize.

Comparing a $150/hour BP provider to a high-end $2000 traveling indie is truly apples to oranges. If honestly placed on the same scale, the high-end providers will completely blow away the low-end. But, what does that really tell you that you don't know already?

How many times have you seen providers complain about a bad review and get the advice to ask management here to take it down? At what point does that practice hurt the reputation and integrity of the board? Also, if I were TER and cared about the issue of shill reviews, I wouldn't allow ads promoting discounts in exchange for reviews. They should simply be banned as they contribute to promoting a practice that helps to dilute the quality and integrity of the reviews.

i simply ask for referrals from a provider i know and trust if i feel like exploring other options.  i visit a local restaurant in my neighborhood and have become friendly with the chef / owner.  nice little italian place - byob.  if i feel like indian or really good sushi, i call or ask the chef for a suggestion. he knows my style and what i like and suggests a few options.  every suggestion has been awesome.  

same with providers.  i've gotten some excellent referrals and unbelievable service following this approach.  but i agree, the review system here like the tax code, needs an overhaul.  the majority of ladies are very helpful and will steer you in the right direction.

That is EXACTLY what happened to me.  I gave a "top ten" provider who was pretty damn unattractive a 6 or looks and the next thing you know she challenged it on TER and they pulled it off.  I challenged the challenge but TER wanted proof of my emails which I actually had saved but I decided not to push it because this provider is nuts, had my personal info, and frankly it wasn't worth the risk.  That is one reason why the "6" ratings disappear so quickly.  You really want to pick a fight with a high volume high rated escort who has your personal info?  not me.

While I agree that many of the reviews are lacking, we can't all be Ernest Hemingway or John Steinbeck with our writing.  Yes, major issues should probably be mentioned, but opinions are going to vary as to what is or isn't an issue. This isn't a science and as others have said, the best thing to do is to look for consistency in a provider's reviews.

But clearly in your mind, yours are the only appraisals that count.  You trot out the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" line, but then totally ignore it as you disparage other people's rankings. Personally, you lost me when you ranked "angelina jolie as the best looking"... by my tastes she generally looks like a skank. But I recognize that's just my view and won't condemn anyone who happens to think she's beautiful.

I don't see how much TER can revamp the rating system.    I agree that fake reviews suck and I wish more were pulled.

While there are men that are easy scorers; there are also those that deliberately rate low.   I agree that HONESTY should be present in reviews.  I don't know about more categories.  It's my opinion that one should lose himself in the experience without checking off TER boxes in his mind, lol.   Se la vi.   But PLEASE don't bring a notepad or magnifying glass to the date.  Kinda kills the mood...

I hate, hate, hate, these threads of men ENCOURAGING each other to rate low...  that "so many girls can't possibly deserve high scores".   It seems to gain respect of other guys here on TER, you cannot compliment a provider or rate her highly.  

I know there are problems with the ratings, with the reviewers, etc.  There always will be.  I ran into the same problem today looking for a good hair salon.  Just do your research and realize that some places are deserving.

EVERYONE has a different set of eyes, nuts, and needs. EVERYONE has different expectations, and different reactions - ladies included. Using reviews as a comparison tool is not practical. A reviewer is rating by how the lady looked TO HIM, and how she made HIM feel. I don't post reviews any more, because I realize that EVERY lady I have had the pleasure of seeing was, to me, a combination of Natalie Wood and Pamela Anderson, and that they ALL should charge a million bucks an hour, because that is the way they have ALL made me feel - like a million bucks. If you go into a rendezvous with a checklist, you're short-changing both yourself and the lady. You want a realistic view of the value of reviews? Go see a movie, and then read the reviews from different "critics". Unless it's a Tom Cruise movie, you'll find that no two "critics" say the same thing.

First of all, I never called her a skank. My exact statement was "by my tastes she generally looks like a skank".  To say she "generally looks like" one is rather different than calling her one.

If a guy gives a bunch of 8s and 9s, then it may very well be that he is an easy grader.  You gotta check the context.  Sad, yes, but true.  I consider myself realistic.  I have never given out a 10 in looks to my knowledge.  Most girls who are gorgeous out there are 9s in my book, which some being 9.2, 9.3, etc.  

I explained once to a girl I dated that she was a 7.  Of course she was offended, but the truth is that average is 5.  And lots of girls here fall into the 5 or 6 rating.  A lot of the hotter ones are 7s, and a really hot one is an 8.  The average hot chick you see at Lavo on a Thursday night is probably between a 7 and an 8, and I know that most of those girls I would probably be very happy paying to fuck.

First of all, there aren't really ten levels.  There are 4: UNATTRACTIVE/HORRIBLE IN BED (1-6),  ATTRACTIVE, BUT NOTHING SPECIAL/AVERAGE SEX (7), HOT LOOKING/GOOD SEX (8), REALLY HOT/GREAT SEX (9-10).  Everybody knows this.  That is just how the "language" of TER has evolved, and the idea that speaking the "language" accurately is somehow "dishonest" is kind of stupid.  The numbers mean what they mean, and being stubborn about it is pointless.  

Anyway, TER should replace the 10-point scales with these scales:

LOOKS

1- UNATTRACTIVE
2- ATTRACTIVE
3- VERY ATTRACTIVE
4- SUPER HOT (PERSONAL TOP 10% OF PROVIDERS)

PERFORMANCE

1- TERRIBLE
2- GOOD
3- VERY GOOD
4- AMAZING (TOP 10%)

OVERALL RECOMMENDATION

1- NOT RECOMMENDED
2- RECOMMENDED
3- HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
4- A TOP EXPERIENCE (TOP 10%)

All of this is subjective, still, and we would get a high concentration of "3s", but that is still better than the current system, because the meanings of 1, 2, and 4 will be very clear.  

TER should also sort the data so a girl's reviews can be put in a range against the mean and median scores of her body of reviewers.  If 2 girls average an 8.5/8.5, for one girl that could be above the mean for her body of reviewers (who are tough graders), while the other could be below the mean because she has attracted easy graders.

As for reviewer reliability, a reviewer's scores should be compared to the average scores of the girls he has seen.  There could be 2 reviewers who give similarly high scores, but that does not mean they are both easy graders.  One of them could concentrate his hobbying with very well-reviewed (and, often) expensive girls.  I am risk averse, so I typically see $600+ girls with very solid TER review histories (or on personal recommendation from providers I know well).  So, yeah, I give out a lot of 9s (and I concede I am a bit of a softy in real life!), but most of the girls I see are also getting a shit load of 9s from a shit load of reviewers, and probably couldn't keep charging $600+ if they weren't hot and great in the sack.
