This may be a dumb question and maybe im missing something obvious but what is the accountability process for deceitful reviews written that potentially harm a provider's reputation and negatively affects their calender and therefore income....i mean even if its taken down a lot of damage is done in the meantime...how does one suggest balancing this matter? Does the person who wrote the misleading or false review have to issue a public apology or something? Real question. Thank you. Xoxo
It really depends on how bad the session was. I try not to write bad ones unless it was terrible and something bad happened just to let the people know to watch out for. I try to give honest reviews but try to stay away from saying anything super negative unless i have to
If you can prove it's a false review you can appeal to TER. Did the session take place and can you prove it did not? If you can't prove there was no session you're out of luck. But there's certainly no way on TER for you to get "a public apology." The best thing you can do in the absence of being able to prove something is to generate some positive reviews that will make this one seem like an outlier. If I see a bunch of positive reviews and a single negative one I ignore it.
People writing out and out false reviews always made me wonder. I figured it was one of 4 scenarios - a client who is miserable in general, a client you refused to see for whatever reason and is now taking out their revenge on you, a fellow provider who is trying to surprise your business and using a fake profile, or a client who had expectations that were not met and they get they were truly wronged (misled, lied to, unfairly charged/up-charged)
Unfortunately no matter what you will not get a “public apology”. Much like when a provider decides to “blackball” a client simply because they don’t like them or their attitude - not because they did something that was not agreed upon or consented to. And in the clients case it is worse because they often don’t even know that’s out their and can only find out if they are told by a provider. I feel bad for you, as you mentioned, this affects your bottom line. Write to TER if the person has a history of negative reviews or complaints, they very well may take it down.
Thank you for your genuine replies. I truly do appreciate it. And yes it was a real question but I knew I would never really get a public apology hahaha. But I thought it was worth an askđź’“
Hey, I will look at all the reviews for a provider. Kind of like the Olympic scoring for figure skating, throw out the high and the low, use everything else. If there is a bad review I will look at that persons other reviews. If they are all bad, or if that is the only review, I totally discount it. Hope that helps.
