You can talk about things you really can't put up on the board. We get together about once a month on the island.

I hear that some guys don't want to get together because they have S.O.'s. Suppose you're having a great time with a wonderful provider and LE knocks on your door; who will you call then, your wife? No, you will call one of the guys in the group.

Some guys fear that they may not look "the part". What the hell is that all about? Don't worry, we don't want to sleep with you.

Some guys fear recognition. This is my fear as I live in a small town on the east end of LI. I don't look forward to seeing one of my relatives, clients and/or workers at this meeting. Before a new member is invited to come to the party the existing members must all approve. The group won't get beyond 10 people, I'm sure.

Yes, we have a small group that meets on LI. I have their numbers (coded) with me at all times. They all have become great friends. BTW, the entire time isn't talking about providers. We also talk about sports and fishing too. ; )

Hobby well. Hobby safe. Hobby in a group.

Would you take a newbie?, I am fasinated by this hobby but you guys seemed so experienced that it can be intimidating. All I can say is I am a cool guy and not affiliated by any special interest groups. Without being the biggest brown-noser of all time, I have always admired the advise I have gotten from you guys. While I keep most of my encounters private, at least on the boards, I would like to throw my hat into the ring. If you don't want me, thats okay too.

Of course, we will have to all get together from time to time.

Whoppr, you have a review from San Fran. Do you plan on flying in for this meeting? Either way, if you wanted to meet us on LI, I'd have to check you out first. But, of course, you are welcome.

I am a hobbiest on Long Island - I to fear the knock on the door and the exspoure. And I would love to find a steady thing too. But how does one go about it. I would love a support group to help out if I got into trouble. And I would do the same in return. I even have some things that might be useful to the group. I also om out on the east end of LI - its a dam ghost town out here - lol -  I can furnish refrences if need. thanks

We have established some criteria for allowing people into the Long Island group.

Please, before flaming me, understand that there is a great deal of sensitivity surrounding the hobby, and for many reasons a certain amount of security must apply.

As a general rule, thus far, and subject to change as conditions dictate, for the Long Island group, the following guidelines apply:

1.  Must be a VIP member of TER, which you are not, OnLI.  Or that handle is an alias.  Alias' are not aceptable for membership.

2.  You must have a minimum of 5 posted reviews on TER, which must be of providers with multiple reviews.  They cannot be the only review of that provider.

3.  You must have a track record of participation either on the NY Discussion Board or the General Discussion Board of TER.

Any existing member of the group has veto power over the admission of any new member.  For any reason.  Remember there are security issues involved and people's reputations, marriages, jobs, etc. at stake.

Just so you know, we have invited some VIP members to join the group and they have declined because they had security concerns, as we all do to some extent or another.

If you are a VIP member, OnLI, and are using an alias, you can PM me and we can discuss this further.

Yes Onli is an aliase - I am not a Vip Member here but a Gold Member on AFF. Just never wanted to go public. Perhaps it is time to take it to the next level of membership over here. I have seensevreal from this site and used it for travel information. Just havent contributed much. Thanks for the info - I will upgrade and PM you.
