IN GENERAL, "Manhattan" is almost always the best choice for touring. BUT --- you have to decide on the best neighborhood to match you to your clientele (financial, museum, theater, sports, ... districts). BUT --- some guys who work or are going to one district don't want to be seen doing "other things" in the same district! "Hay, imp. I saw you leaving the Met the other night. I was gonna offer you a ride, but you went into the Hotel. Wassup with that?" No thank you. SO --- it can be hard to predict and has to be learned by your experience with new or regular clients and your favorite places to visit.

I'm a NYC native. I've been riding the subways (a "straphanger") since I was a kid. If you are comfortable getting around the boroughs (Brooklyn - Bronx - Queens - Manhattan - Staten Island), you can, perhaps, set up an incall in Brooklyn but offer outcall to clients in Manhattan. And vice-versa.
.
When I was a kid, me and my pals would regularly see people riding the buses and subways in fancy gowns (and mink stoles) and tuxedos, presumably on their way to the opera or a show. I wouldn't expect to see that any more. I wouldn't expect you to get dolled up and commute to an outcall via subway; you'd want to Uber or take a cab for that ... and your "buzz" will probably say something along those lines: "Incall in Brooklyn. Add round trip Uber fare for outcalls."

Then again, not everyone in NYC agrees on the best choices:

Epitaph? Valentine? Paul Revere? .... CAN DO!
Queens? Brooklyn? Manhattan? .... CAN DO!
I always loved visiting NY before covid. Now I'm unsure which area is good for touring? Manhattan or Brooklyn. The smaller boroughs don't get a lot of promotion I'm noticing.
Manhattan is the smallest of the five boroughs lol.
After having lived in NYC most of my life I would say Manhattan is THE place to be for your purposes.
But nonetheless, I agree that Manhattan would be the logical place to host and Midtown being the area most would prefer.
I go where I get a serious booking that supplies a deposit. I would never travel without pre booked dates. If someone wants you to travel further after you already flew into their city there’s a fee, and hotels are not cheap. You have to research. All the expenses add up fast, so if you don’t have real dates booked it could end up being a bust. I ask my dates where do they want me?
Manhattan
SoHo
Chelsea
I cater to my clients needs because they’re booking me. I have never had a date in Brooklyn. Guys will tell you to come, but unless they’re serious 🧐 by supplying a deposit it’s carrot🥕 dangling.

I sometimes host in Brooklyn, as long as its right over the bridge. But I find manhattan to be easiest
