Role-playing is one of the few ways to allow someone to step outside of their distracted 🧠 & insecurities as you aren't "yourself" in this exchange you're playing a different, sexier, & more confident version of yourself. It's an exceptionally effective tool especially when it comes to issues of virility.
I remember a particular study in grad school where they had high power executives (in NYC actually) Type-A men married to exceptionally hot (often 2nd) wives who couldn't perform sexually. Each couple tried toys, porn, erotica, medication etc, and role-playing was the most effective tool because our brain is our biggest sex organ. These C-suite guys were getting blown by their hot Eastern European wives wearing $900 lingerie and all they could think is, I wonder if I sent that email to my boss, or is that meeting at 8 am or 9 am tomorrow. The role play forced their focus even if they are playing the seductive professor w/ their wife willing to do anything to try to earn that "A" they are tuned in, turned on and ready for FUN!
