Unfortunately,this kind of scoundrel-like occurance can happen anywhere.

It does not make sense that this would happen after "screening" him and checking provider references.

There would obviously be a glitch somewhere in your screening process or perhaps maybe identity theft?

TER or TBD screen names should never ever be accepted alone in your validation without at the very least, some sort of a PM dialogue with the member.

I'm sure other providers can offer you more detailed private advise to insure that this does not happen to you again.

Thanks everyone for all of your kind words. From what I have learned I got extremely lucky with this asshole today by just getting robbed. From what I have now learned about him it could have been so much worse.

PS I did screen him thru a provider reference. Not thru a TER handle. Hey I am blonde but give me a little more credit than that. LOL.

is not from a provider you KNOW...unfortunately, not every girl remembers who the guys are and, when asked for a reference, is simple to say "ohhh he's nice" and get over with than actually make an effort to make sure the guy is safe before vouching for him.
I was in MD, place that LE is very active, and saw a guy based solely on a reference from a well known local provider.
She called me in his behalf and, to make sure she was legit, I mailed her twice and she swore he was fantastic.
After my 3 hr appt was over and he was ready to leave, he sat in the bed and said he needed to come out clean with me.
Then, he explained how he was dying to see me and didn't have ANY references and used her name "gambling" on the fact she would not care or remember her johns. He told me he never saw her, but knew she was in the area for a while.
Then, he told me he was a retired cop from DC and that I should never trust another provider, unless I knew her personally.

But you should definitely report this to the authority.  You have nothing to hide...you didn't do anything wrong!

you give good advice. it's much better to go with a work reference.

what's also not nyc is guys bending over backwards to defend their favorite indies or agencies on these boards when they receive less than stellar reviews...but are nowhere to be found when something like this happens...go figure
