A Tantrika friend of mine is thinking of relocating to NYC.  She is concerned about getting a place for the summer, because she has heard that NYC clears out in the summers.  She doesn't want to be stuck paying a couple thousand a month with no income.

Personally, I am not a Hamptons kind of guy.  I stick around Manhattan all summer long, but I can't argue that many people do leave town.

Plenty of business.  Just leave before the
Republicans arrive August 31.

In summer, people tend to get out and socialize much more than in winter!! Re retreats to the beach, most men I know are still in the city 3-4 days a week...

Great city!!! And incredible, sexy, bright, interesting men here!! NYC is wonderful.... Highly recommend it to your friend!

It's the Republicans coming to NYC in August in their jackboots.... Did I just say that?  I meant black boots.
When all those starched collar, holier than thou, bible thumping, thumbs up their asses Republicans get to town, you gotta believe there's going to be a major crackdown to make the city look like Oz.  And I don't mean the HBO series OZ.  I don't think it's any mere coincidence that the convention is going to be in NYC.   Are we going to have to watch endless footage on the news of GW standing at Ground Zero waving around the American flag that's been shoved up his ass by Dickie Cheney and Donny Rumsfeld?
A village in Texas has called and said one of their idiots has gone missing.  Can you tell I'm a bleeding heart liberal? And damn proud of it.!!!

Oh Nyc is great in the summertime.  You have an easier time parking and less traffic on the weekends.  Lots of tourists so tell her she won't be disapointed :)

With the Republican convention in August, the NYPD will have a helluva lot more on their plate (ie, preventing terrorism; containing doobie brother, Ned Boner and other brain-dead hippies as they violently protest Republicans; containing felonious crime while they're here, etc.) than worrying about a few girls in midtown hotels spending the days on their backs.

Beats the heck out of this lousy weather we are still having.

I echo the sentiment about leaving before the convention comes to town.  Prices will go up, traffic, etc.

By the way, not all card carrying Republicans are bad...I'm one...and proud of it.

nor is NedBoner.  We are realists who keep our eyes, ears, and brains open.  In a hobby where everyone is looking for a swallower, you are one who swallows all the bullshit of the Bush administration.  The theat of terrorism is jacked way up by the aministration to scare us into not changing president in a time of so much uncertainty.  If you open your eyes, you will see Bush is just a wooden puppet who wants to be a real boy (so he can play Game Cube all day long insead of just 5 hours a day).  And guess who's got their hands up his ass making his mouth moving and speaking for him?  That's right Rumself, Cheney, and corporate America that is raping us and fucking us in the ass every day without us even knowing it.  If you believe Bush give a rat's ass about your or me... then put a tooth under your pillow and wait for the tooth fairy.  Boy, did his massive tax cut help me.  I got $300 back and was able to really stimulate the economy by buying a new iPod. The corporate theives like Kenneth Lay got millions back.  Just think if he didn't give back that money to "stimulate" the economy and instead invested that money in education, providing job training for the homeless, and helping to build viable businesses in the inner cities how many people would benefit.  As far as stimulating the economy George..  stimulate this you lying, thieving, dunce. A chimp or Jed Clampett would do a better job in the White House.

Being proud of being a Republican is like saying I'm a lonely farmer who fucks his hog in the ass and I'm proud of it.  You're right Huey fan, not all card carrying Republicans are bad.  They're just midguided, close-minded, and usually ignorant of what's really going on in the world around them swallowing what's being spoon fed to them by Bush and Companhy. The only Republican currently on the political scene who I trust and admire is John McCain. And I also liked former Senator and Governor of Connecticut, Lowell Weiker. Speaking of a carrying card... let's make it a Kerry-ing card in November
I come down a little hard on you Huey, it's nothing personal, but someone's gotta speak up, enlighten the populace to what's really happening to us courtesy of the powers in D.C.
