Recent Example of why no-show should be readily accessible

So I wrote a review on Heidi Starr because she was a no show (see thread below).  Although I obviously couldn't give "juicy details" about an encounter which never happened, I tried to say as much as possible, while telling the truth.  My thinking was that knowing a provider might be a no show is as valuable to us all as knowing what she's like when an encounter happens.

Anyway, the status of the review is now listed as "Unapproved" and the comment is "Other."  Can our trusty moderator inform me what I might do to find out what "Other" means so that I can get what I consider to be a valuable public service review posted?  It seems to me that people searching for info about a provider shouldn't have to search the discussion boards to get valuable information.

Thanks.

As I explained in a post here recently, board moderators aren't involved in the review process. You have to contact Admin ([email protected]).

Staff has address the question of "no-show" reviews on the Suggestion & Policy board. The link is below.

I appreciate the prompt response.  In point of fact, though, if you read the posts, Staff hasn't really "addressed" the issue of "no-shows."  They've discussed it and basically said there's nothing more to do, other than to allow messages to be posted on the Discussion Board.

The problem with this approach is obvious for a visiting provider such as Heid Starr, though.  Am I supposed to keep tabs on her tours and post in every local Discussion Board TER has?  The argument seems to be that allowing no-show posts could ultimately damage the reputation of a provider unfairly since false no-show reviews could be posted and the provider could not rebut them.  This argument allows the tail to wag the dog.  Shouldn't we be more concerned about TRUE no-shows than false ones?  We're the paying customers.  Isn't it worse that reviews imply a certain reliability which may not be there than worrying about false "no-show" reviews?  Isn't the latter case the lesser of two evils?

Under the current scenario, Heidi Starr can happily work her way through New York for a few weeks blowing off customers and then get out of Dodge, inflicting her unprofessionalism on a new and unspecting group of hobbyists.  Then, if she comes back to New York in a few months, the threads on the local board may be long forgotten.

Whether a provider shows up or not is a pretty key ingredient of the overall experience from a provider.  Many, many hobbyists rely on reviews -- and not local boards -- to give them an idea of whether to engage a provider.  TER does its paying customers a disservice by not providing a way for this information to be available in the review database.

That's my rant and I'm sticking to it!

Tonight I was checking the new reviews and found a review of one of my favorites, Ashley Taylor.   The reviewer gave her a 7-7.   so I checked his review history, and he had only one other review, Heidi Starr, to whom he gave 8-8.

This made me interested in Heidi Starr.   Looks great from the picture, and the 8=8 review is the only one I found.   Looked the the kind of provider I would like to spend time with.  Were it not for the coincidence of this post on the same day, I would not have known that she was a no-show.   It certainly is something I would like to know about in judging whether to make an appointment with this provider.
