I'm in Midtown for just tonight so I doubt I can get anything "real" scheduled. So I was hoping someone could recommend a fun place to spend a couple of hours. I googled the local strip club scene, but found wildly mixed reviews. Maybe some kind person could point me in the right direction? Are there any under the radar clubs that a non-local might get in to?

My club days are behind me. I used to enjoy Flashdancers. Maybe check out "The Ultimate Strip Club List" http://www.tuscl.net which, I suppose, is up to date.

Rudy Giuliani killed all the good under the radar clubs where you used to be able to have fun. The midtown strip clubs are rip-offs unless you have the discipline to have one drink and walk. The girls may look good but the private dances are designed to strip you of your cash.

On short notice, why try an AMP? There are plenty in midtown. You can PM me if you want help

I don't go as far back as The Melody Theatre, but I do go back to The Harmony (both locations), Blue Angel and the UTR clubs that would pop up and move around. Now THOSE were THE DAYS!  

There are still some floating clubs but I don't know where they are. The owner of one such club did a recent interview with mainstream news media (NY Post? Daily News?) and he said he wasn't worried. The next thing you know, his place had to move again!

I'll agree with BP: spend your money at an AMP.

I totally agree with Yea! Those lapdance parties are great, and have a beautifully "authentic", exciting feel to them...do a simple google search of "lapdance party nyc" and you'll quickly find them..

Thanks, I'll have to check out these lapdance parties. I am a big fan of Cheetah's. Sure, it's not cheap, but the girls there are pretty hot and I enjoy myself. You won't catch me going into the VIP room though. The ultimate ripoff...

I miss the Harmony!  Great place, great memories... my first real real experience.

I have been to both The Lido Room and Masked Nights (aka close encounters). Here are my accounts of my experience.  

The Lido Room, night I went was by Rockefeller Plaza in the loft of an Italian Restaurant. Overall the woman were on the 7 to 9 lookswise. Topless Dance value compared to a regular club is far better, but don't expect to have full access to the lady. Dances performed in an open LD area with others getting dances along side of you. Bar services was in line with a fixed club and the event I attended was pretty crowded. About 40 women and probably about 50 guys in attendance at all times. I would consider going back with a client that was looking for something more low key and fun, but wouldn't go back just because I wanted too. A bit of an expensive night but value was better than the NYC midtown clubs.  

Masked nights I would rate the women about the same. The night I attended was in midtown and was more fun than Lido, but less women (2:1 men to women). Same set up as Lido as well although the lap dances were more full contact than I expected. The ladies genuinely seemed to want to entice you, but with limits. The close encounters event is the one I have been to a couple of times. The event was downtown and BYOB. About 10 to 15 ladies, all above a 7 in looks. Close Encounters also has semi private & VIP rooms at time/$ rates. I've had s lot of fun the times I went and will be going back.  

If you're looking for something more than a FCLD with touch, these events are not worth it and there are a ton of other options here on TER.
