I've been in the hobby for about 10 years now and today, I found out that there are providers out there who will refuse to see you after reading your reviews because they're afraid of getting a bad review.

First, let me say that I won't reveal the name of the provider, so don't even ask; that's between her and I and I'm not a douche bag to do that. I just wanted to get feedback/comments on the situation from hobbyists and providers. I accepted her feelings and was ok with it. I certainly wouldn't get any enjoyment out of the session knowing she was not fully comfortable with me, so in the end it was probably better that she canceled.

Here's the story. We have emailed each other a few times talking about meeting up and on Wed I think we set up an appt for today, Friday late afternoon. Around 11am, she realized that she didn't have my references so she asked me for my TER handle. She started reading my reviews and within an hour I get a text stating that she's not sure if I will like her. This went on back and forth for a while with me "explaining" why I rated the way I did. Then she basically canceled the appt. The whole thing was just bizarre; definitely a first for me.

This provider is highly rated (mostly 9's and 10's) so I guess she was afraid of getting a less than stellar review. It was surprising because I expected a highly rated provider to be more confident in her skills than this.

Yes, some of my reviews are crappy, but that's because the women I chose were either completely mechanical, had stinky breath or pussy, or used fake pics and looked different than their ads. But most of the reviews are solid 7's and 8's, with some 9's and 10's. Main thing is that they are all honest and no written in a malicious way or with any ill will ( except maybe the tranny who tried to pose as a woman--LOL). Plus, TER's system won't allow you to give a 9 or 10 sometimes simply because of the services that are provided (bbbj, anal, etc). I have found that higher price does correlate to better service, so the low budget providers are very hit or miss and the reviews reflect that. Not always but usually, in my experience.

I don't know if I should start giving better scores, even when they aren't deserved. I can start handing out 9's to everybody, but then I feel that I'd doing a disservice to fellow hobbyists. Or maybe follow what our mommas taught us that if we don't have something nice to say, then STFU and don't say anything at all. But again, I feel like I'm doing a disservice to the board.

First of all you're correct not to include the lady's name.

Reviews are a really odd part of this hobby when you think about it. While people like to comment on the quality of service received, as they might when seeing any other professional it's hard to avoid the personal. Someone might comment online after seeing a Doctor for example, saying the service provided was excellent and they left feeling great, but they're never going to say that they really clicked with the Doctor, felt there was a personal connection, talked about shared interests they discovered, and comment on the Doctor's character, yet that happens in reviews in this area all the time, and often we like to feel there is some connection between the hobbyist and the provider, especially those we see regularly.

You might want to look back at your reviews yourself (I haven't read them so am only speculating) but I wonder if the lady involved spotted something in them that lead her to think that she and you would not get on, it might have been a throwaway comment somewhere but possibly something that caught her eye, maybe in some that you referred to as mechanical?

You seem to have taken this situation well on the chin and don't seem to have been rude, which again is good. Any meeting with a provider is ALWAYS at the discretion of that provider. I doubt that the possibility of a bad review would put anyone off, especially if you say that she has many positive reviews in the past and your own reviews are predominantly positive.

I can really see two alternatives, firstly that she has a personal reason not to see you on the grounds of someone you have met in the past and secondly that something in the contents of your reviews has lead her to believe that you wouldn't get on

If she uses the boards it might be possible that she would contact you privately and explain, otherwise I doubt we'll know

Honest

Well if you are gonna make up an excellent review then it aint worth it, don't write one to begin with. Reviews should reflect exactly the kind of service the provider gives. We know they cant be perfect so just report fairly so that you don't make her loose clients but also protect other hobbyists. Balanced reviewing is the best & the more you do it the better it gets. Don't overrate nor underrate a provider. I think it wasn't bad that she cancelled on you coz she felt you are a strict reviewer. There is something she knew was gonna show up so she opted out. Please don't stop writing reviews.

I think it was bad form on her part

Sounds like she "cherry picks" her dates looking for those who give out lots of 9's and 10's (easy graders?). Maybe her service aren't that great and she's afraid of getting a lower score. I personally hate reviews; the only thing I think they are good for is to prove that lady is legit and not a scam/ripoff. As far as performance - I approach every date with a YMMV mindset. I don't write a review for every person I see and I always ask their permission first. Some highly rated ladies don't want or need many reviews and specifically request that you ask them first before submitting a review.
You sound very honest and true - so stay that way. It is her loss not seeing you. There are plenty of other fish in the sea.

Someone sounds butthurt, anyone look at this guys reviews?!?!?!

He likes to pick low fruit on the cheap.

With very few exceptions he has a a long history of going with questionable talent/hoodrats for quick and fast 15/30 sessions, and his language very much shows that he's totally looking for a hole to dump a load, and not much else.

He's all over the place, but his reviews scream "I'm cheap," he doesn't care about quality.

Guys don't see girls all the time for their reviews and I'd guess the smart girls are taking note of that and doing the same. I can't see any reason why a gal with a good business and an excellent reputation would see a client with a long history of questionable reviews of hood rats.

In this business any woman worth her salt is going to know exactly who she would and who she would not click with. It saves the client money, protects her, her brand, her reputation.

Love2Daty, If the girl was savvy enough to see a bunch of red-flags in his reviews and turn him down because she thought it wouldn't work, then she did him a favor and saved him money

Based on his reviews I wouldn't recommend him to see any of the women I know.

I can totally see how most higher end providers would be turned off by this guy. Are you implying that the women have no prerogative or can't exercise choice here based upon their own self interests?

That's awfully one sided and hypocritical of you considering how much of a suck up you seem to be.

There isn't one girl on his list of reviews that I'd see.

Don't even think about changing your honest reviews...

Listen bud, there is one thing about this hobby that most of us either forget or loose track of....we hobbyist pay for an hour of happiness, thats it, that IS the golden rule. Follow me here for a minute, you work for xyz, your boss mr.dick tells you what to do and you have to follow his instructions...why? Coz he PAYS you. Someone is always happy to take your money, remember that. The biggest mistake I have seen a lot of providers/hobbyist make is they make it Personal! It is business, treat it like one and you will always have fun.

Second, there are thousands of providers, why get hung up on one stuck up paranoid looney? As soon as you detect attitude, move on, we are not here to marry her and we will NEVER date them, so why bother pondering over the one that got away? There are plenty more willing to take your money in a heart beat, kapish? Here is an example, I was going back n forth to see a provider the other day, all excited had a full day to myself, she made the plans and then few hrs before just cancelled outta no where, no real explanation either, just "I cant make it". No problem, contacted one of my atf and had a blast. One lost one gained, but either way I came out on top.

In your specific situation, I really dont think there is a mystery. Its very simple, what she was selling wasnt exactly what you were going to get, so she backed off because she knew you are a honest reviewer and you would expose her b.s., either it was her pictures or services. She might had advertised as curvy but actually be a plumper, who knows? BUT, The point is YOUR honest reviews scared her off and thats a GOOD thing. We all should be always honest, so we get rid of the crap and every hobbyist gets their money's worth!

I know plenty of guys on here who write bullshit reviews and they follow the suit on other boards too. As a matter of fact I have seen the same provider they have over rated 9/9 and I give them a honest 6/7 and next day they change it to 10/10 LOL. And here is the kicker, these morons have started a trend where now providers have started to ask, "hey xyz gave me a 9/10, if you do the same I will take x amount off the price", yup go figure. What pisses me off is these false reviewers get to see good providers based on our honest reviews.

Moral of the story, stay honest and keep fishing!

The guy's review list reads like a no-name who's-who of scary you could pick up in a Walmart parking lot at 3am.

God forbid a high end gal doesn't want to see an obvious bottom feeder.

Zing.....simmer down there bud. We all hobby within our financial parameters, we are no one to judge who is a "bottom feeder" or the top spender, thats a terrible thing to say. I understand your pov but you never know what is what, we shouldnt pass judgement on some one we dont know. For example, lately I havent been able to hobby much and if I do, I can not stay for more than half hour due to personal and works reasons, so some times even I go for 15 mins sessions, does that make me a bottom feeder? I dont think so......lets not put any one down, I am NOT defending him per-say, I am just stating you are being a little too harsh to a fellow hobbyist you dont even know.

Anyways, my answer was more based on my experience. Providers do run away when they are hiding something, my point to OP was to move on and not harp on it, there are plenty of other providers who will happily take his money.

the entire rating/review system is flawed, in general.
Since I can't read reviews of the clients themselves, since there are none, I do try to read the reviews they have left for other women as part of my screening. You fellas do your homework when looking into a new lady to see, and many of us too do due diligence.

Reviews and message board interactions can be very telling about a hobbyist's character.
All the gents on message boards are leaving a trail, and some of it is less than appealing.
I have declined dates with potential clients most assuredly based on janky reviews like the OP's!
But I have also declined taking on new clients based on top rated good reviews they have left; meaning details in their left reviews tell me that we would not be a good match or were red flags.
It's not always about the numbers.

I recently declined a whitelisted gentleman in Chicago, who wanted an extended date with me.... His refs checked out, the money was good.....but 100% of his reviews, described engagements that I would not be interested or comfortable in at all!
Public indecency or sexual acts at bars, taking photos of his dates during session, meeting in public spaces in only trench coat and chunky loud makeup -which brings unnecessary attention to the lady... etc.

Obviously he saw several providers that all this was fine with them, they and had whitelisted him afterall.
However the things in those reviews were not in MY comfort level, and are not my style of how I operate. So I told him I did not think we were a good match, of course well before we had even scheduled a date. He was taken aback I am sure.

just because I am paid for my time, does not mean anything goes or that I am not taking into consideration my own enjoyment. I really enjoy my career, and I have an incredible rapport with the hobbyists who see me. I am not picky choosey and snobby about the gents I see....it takes all kinds right?
But if I can single something out that I know will be a problem, bet your sweet ass I am going to avoid it.

I wouldn't want to see any of the providers I've checked so far. I can appreciate an established quality provider protecting her reputation from a "bottom feeder". That's why it pays for providers to buy the full VIP for full access to see all reviews as part of their screening process.

It allows for misogynistic misfits to paint a very innaccurate picture. You're still promoting it by saying the gal "ran away." That's bullshit. If an experienced gal makes a judgement call that it probably won't work why should she be slagged for it?

Right, to review my earlier comment.

I think Olivia has got it right.

It really looks like the provider had a look at your reviews and didn't like their content and style, not the possibility of getting a bad review. Having read a sample of your reviews, both good and bad, I can see how some providers would be uncomfortable in seeing you irrespective of the positive or negative nature of the review.

Obviously some providers don't mind the more explicit reviews, detailing everything that happened in what can sometimes sound like the transcript of a porno. Others really hate this approach. Looking at things it looks like the provider you wanted to see fits in the second category.

The length of visit may vary but many people, both providers and hobbyists do like the idea that they will enjoy spending time with the other person and not just slap their bits together until the time runs out

You obviously have your own preferences for visits and have your own style of reviewing, for good or bad you may as well stick with it, but accept the fact that some providers will be put off by it and won't be interested in seeing you.

Choice doesn't just exist for the hobbyist

I check out guys reviews to make sure he is the type of client I want to use my service.
They reveal a lot about who they have seen and what they like in a session.
Just like you guys are selective we are allowed to be also.

A system that allows the reviewing of the clients would certainly be useful to the ladies, not only from the point of view of safety but when trying to decide who they want to spend their time with, yes money changes hands but given the choice we would all prefer to spend our time in situations we find comfortable than not, the providers should have no less of a choice.

I guess the reviews left are as close to the expression of the hobbyist's character as any provider is likely to find online so can certainly be a useful tool, as seems to have happened in the case we're discussing here. After all, hobbyists can look at not only reviews but profiles, websites, blogs etc and decide whether we still wish to see a provider.

It would be interesting if hobbyists had to put themselves up to the same level of scrutiny prior to a meeting that providers do, (might make people think twice before writing a review)

I'm guessing certain comments would turn up quite often:

'Looked nothing like his profile picture'
'good appearance, though he did say his Mom had done his laundry that morning'
'took a call during our meeting which wasn't cool, though it was his wife'

I think I'd be afraid to see what providers would REALLY write about us in reviews

Ladies don't turn down dates willy nilly

It's in the best interest of everyone involved that providers refuse dates that they don't think will be a good fit. Providers with integrity will strive to only see dates where both parties will feel happy about the experience. They know best what kind of experience they offer. I personally find it heartening that certain providers strive to give a good experience and so won't just see anyone for the cash. Isn't that what hobbyists really desire after all?
