Yes, in an ideal world, the work would only go to those who need it.  But you know what?  That's not the way it works.  Jobs don't go to people who need it the most.  There are always people you and I can think of as "not needing it as much as this other person."  And you can either really worked up and rant about it on a public board (and have everyone think you are a raving lunatic), or you can just adjust to the market (which sucks in this economy).

I work in the markets.  I know exactly what goes on, and I know it sucks when you are LITERALLY selling yourself to make ends meet.  I don't begrudge you for feeling the way you do, nor do I think you are necessarily wrong for feeling the way you do.  But that doesn't help the situation, and you ranting about it isn't gonna stop others from seeing girls who they find more appealing.  This is the free market; it's not charity.

Lets skip the part where they are full of anger, disappointment, jealousy and self entitlement.  Lets go to the part where your business acumen leaves a lot to be desired.

Who is to determine who does or  does not need the money and what is the amount that is "needed"?  You? Your local city officials?  Your neighbors?  You want to deal with such determinations, apply to a local welfare agency.  They got rules and guidelines for "needed" money.  The rest of us WORK for what we consider to be required amount needed to sustain the lifestyle we choose to maintain.For SOME providers it really does not take much.  They snap pics in their bathroom, post ad on backpage, make XYZ amount of money before they get busted or have to leave the town due to bad reviews.  Then there are ladies who approach it as a BUSINESS.  We actually have business plans, research marketing strategies, pay attention to SEO, webstats, track ROI on advertisement, pay taxes, invest our money in other ventures ... all of that actually requires a bit more than  "a hot body and the willingness to do all the things you see in a porn movie"
Ding ding ding we have a winner!  WHY do you suppose oppression of sex workers is increasing every day in this country?  It is for this precise reason.  In our Orwellian society, sex work is the last bastion of enterprise where the worker owns means of production. If you gave it some sort of calm intelligent thought, you would realize that opportunity of working in this industry actually removes well educated experienced women from corporate job pool and as result it increases salary requirements of the remaining applicants.  As result, the witch hunt on escorts is increasing in last couple of years.  Big businesses don't care for this too much.

Average salary in my field in NYC is 117k PRE tax.  Which amounts to just about 1500 a week after tax (more or less).  This is really not that hard to make in this business if one knows how to run the business of being paid companion.

Even with the screening and marketing time being a companion frees up at the very least 25- 30 hours a week that I no longer have to spend working for someone else and instead can spend on working on my non escorting business ventures.

Lina lives in NYC.  NYC makes California look downright cheap in comparison, so you are barking up the wrong tree.  I have lived in both areas, and Cali is a joke in comparison.  $150k won't get you shit in Manhattan.  Do the math, and you can figure out really quickly that a guy making $100k/year is making $60k/year after taxes.  That's $30/hour if you assume 2000 working hours per year (50 weeks times 40 hours/week).  At $250, you are asking a guy to work more than a full day to see a girl for an hour.

You are confusing after-tax and before-tax money, darling.  You just don't get it.  $150k/year before taxes is about $90k/year after taxes.  Now do your math again.  $90k/year after taxes is $7500/month.  That's 30 clients a month at $250/hour (assuming every client is seeing you for an hour).  That's one a day if you work every single day.  Or if you work five days a week, that's 1.5 clients per day.

A "good corporate job" in NYC is maybe $100k/year.  That goes a lot farther in CA than in NYC, where a one-bedroom apartment is about $2000/month to rent for a fairly shitty place and into the $3500/month range for a good one.  That's RENTING, not OWNING.
