I like the ones on Lex in the high 40's and low 50's because they are on my walk between work and home.

As long as the place is clean, I don't usually notice anything beyond the person with whom I am spending time.

The knee jerk typical answer would probably be midtown east or midtown west, but my opinion varies from the rest.  

Why not try the Financial District, why not try Grammercy Park area, or try this cool hotel called Ace Hotel above the Flatiron District and below the Herald Square area. Think outside the box for hotel location. I think it's cool to plan for a location that's a little different than typical midtown east or midtown west.

Hate going to Times Square area.

There are lots of places in that stretch.

I like 48Lex, but a card key is required for the elevator.
