We have now been on line for three months as a local board for the NYC Area. Without much fanfare or splash we seem to have attracted a good following in terms of readers, but I do wish that the amount of post and people that post would be more. I'm not sure what to attribute this to, but it is what it is. With the recent upgrades to the board software and the quarter review I thought I would share a few thoughts with those of you that stop here either to share information or just to read. Generally as you can tell I let most things pass. I believe in the right to express opinions and the right to share information with as little interference as possible. So far I have only had to delete about a dozen post and in most instances they had to do with what is known as SPAM. The only thing I ask is to be fair and to treat others as you would wish them to treat you. Detailed reviews should go to the review section of the board and NYC is starting to get a nice accurate data base. Hopefully you are using it. To me it is the best source of any of the boards for accurate reviews with detailed information. The only better source being from a known poster via backchannel communication. Like most of you I am an average guy who happens to like attractive women and doesn't have a lot of spare time in his life. I have my favorite providers just like anybody else but I keep my private hobby views seperate from when I wear my moderator hat. If any of you have questions about board etiquette, content, or as a provider if you disagree with a post pertaining to this local board I have opened a e-mail account for you to contact me and privately express your concerns or views. It's sole purpose is to use as a means of communication to help moderate this board.Also I am looking to you, the board readers, to provide me a little feedback either by posting openly or contacting me at this e-mail address on items you would like to see, improvements, or just rational opinions. We are here after all because of you. This is your board. Keep that in mind.The last thing I will point out is that now that we have been on line you might want to start using the log in feature. It allows you the benefit of adjusting your message if you wish to change it later and it allows you after a certain amount of post the ability to have your efforts appear instantly, instead of in the pre-moderated format. As always have fun. That is the true idea of a hobby.

You pose a very good question concerning the relative lack of reviewers. In my opinion, the principal reason is that only a very small percentage of NYC area "hobbyists" are aware of TER's existence. As for me, I came upon TER quite by accident.I was in some provider-related chatroom and somebody referred to a review at "TER." So I asked what TER meant and the guy referred me to your website. It was completely accidental. What kind of advertising or public awareness campaign does management have going? What media outlets do you target? Perhaps the answers to these questions will answer yours. In any event, you're doing a great job. Keep it up, please.

A good response, actually I have had a few dropped into my     e-mail also which have provided positve feedback. To start thank-you for the compliment. Like yourself I found "ER" when one of my favorite providers came to visit me and asked if I had heard of The Erotic Review" and did I see her reviews in the review section. At that time, almost a year ago, there was no NYC Board and very little except a review section that was pretty sparse with local reviews to the NYC area and a General Discussion Board. I immediately liked the concept and was impressed that what I would refer to as the undiscovered gems of providers in New York were in the data base instead of just the high-profile ladies. Also I really was impressed with the way the reviews were styled. Not just the writing but the format design. Nothing anywhere at that time came close to providing what I wanted to see. ER was the first.I found the people who ran the site friendly and open to suggestion and although I think they really wanted a provider to be the board moderator they asked me to assume the responsibility and I accepted.Not that we communicate all that often but they have asked me contact names of publications and telephone numbers so I think now that they finished the system upgrades to the hardware and server software that you will probably start to see advertisement in the Village Voice and a few other local underground papers. They also have some other media contacts and of course trying to get local providers as their feature guest in the chatroom never hurts either. (Amanda Manhattan was the most recent. I missed it due to business travel but as far as I know went off as scheduled) The one point I want to reinterate is that as the moderator I see we get a lot of "reads". We also are starting to get a nice, complete database, better then anything else I have found concerning the greater New York Area on providers. That tells me that people are reading the board and that more and more guys are aware it is out there as a resource. What hasn't followed is a word of mouth migration that turns into more writers or contributors. Nor have we yet to have any providers visit except to browse. Will that change? I hope so. After all the female population to this hobby is 50% of the equation.

The newness of the board, coupled with the general lack of PR for TER is probably responsible for the activity level.  It seems that everybody knows about TBD (can I say that?), but relatively few know about TER.

One thing that would help is if you had a NY Provider only section. Seeing more providers just coming here, which is great. Smart to do. Notice that you try to keep the sections seperate, but if I go to Provider area, few of the women live in this area.
