Have frequented Le Trapeze in Manhattan on many business trips to NYC. Only admits couples and occassionally a single female. Although there are different crowds, I have always found an upscale crowd with a great atmosphere including a high percentage of European visitors to the area.
Have always found it a place to which a return engagement is never questioned.
