Ha ha very funny.

Oh ya, I've got a joke for you. What are Yankee pitchers afraid of??

Answer: HITTING THE WALL!!!!

Well, at least Kevin Brown wasn't.

Even without Kevin Brown the last few weeks, the Red Sox still haven't been able to catch the Yankees. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

Yap, yap, yap.  Don't you have something else to talk about Energizer?  The Yankees are playing the best that they can over the last 2.3 weeks, frankly the Red Sox have sucked.  Before you get a smile of satisfaction on your face consider this, the Red Sox will play much better during the playoffs.  Gives you pause, doesn't it?
On to an unrelated item.  You live in or around NYC.  Is it true that the Jets Wide Receivers and Tight Ends are working on developing very bad BO so that the Patriots Defensive Backs and Linebackers won't smack their lights out?

The opera is not over until the fat lady sings.  So put a dress, lipstick and a wig on George, cuse, he is going to be singing loudly when your Yankees get their asses kicked in the ALCS.
BTW, maybe you can answer my question about Jets Wide Receivers and Tight Ends.

Since when, when they have never done that in their history. They always find a way to choke in the playoffs. You Red Sox fans never learn.

What a meltdown and two in a row.  A-rod sucks, Jeter and Matsui are the only real allstars on the team.  Care to compare golden gloves?  You've even got the umpires in your pockets.
I can sympathize with you bumbling yankee fans, been there and done that.  This year though, the Red Sox will win.  It's in the cards and the players heads.  No showboating, no attitude, no nonsense.  Now you won't even have baseball to be proud of, with that you're a real bunch of shitheads who talk funny.  NY=Dumpster.  Boston=Gemstone.
Mark my words.

If the roles were reversed and Boston won these 2 games last weekend and the Yankees won 2 this weekend, Boston would still be 3 1/2 back. For all the banter from Red Sox fans the last month, you're still in second place. You do remember Boston's meltdown last weekend when they needed to make a statement and they came up short as usual. Both teams showed they are capable of playing great and at the same time, can play like crap.

The first place Yankees.

The Red Sox will more than likely finish second in the AL East and go to the playoffs on the Wild Card, given the patsies that the Yankees have left, only Baltimore is going to put up a struggle.  But after the playoffs start, as far as the Yankees are concerned, the game's up.
The Sox are going to kick the beans out of the Yankees if the two teams meet in the ALCS.  I happen to think that the Yankees are going to have a problem getting past the winner of the AL West in the first round of the playoffs, too many pitching questions for the Yankees.  You like to pan Pedro, but Pedro is going to fix his problems, there is no way that the Yankees can bandaid that gaping wound that they call a pitching staff.
Oh, BTW, today, Red Sox 11  Yankees  4 ..... OUCH!!!

Go SOX!!!!!

As a guy who has been around long enough to see their 1975 meltdown first hand at Fenway as well as Bucky Dent's home run-- like the sun, moon and tides-some things always remain constant. Red Sox fans always believe this year will somehow be different , but alas it never is. Of course, the Red Sox will make the playoffs as a wild card and of course they will tease their fans by coming oh so close to that elusive World Series. But in the end, they will remian true to form. Since 1918 they have been the Yankees' bitch. Bend over and lube up, Beantown, its time for you to take it in the rear once again....

I have to admit it. I will no longer bend over to pick up the soap with the Red Sox behind me. ;)

Now, the Patriots, that's a different story. New Jersey Jets fans...don't get your hopes too high. ;)

Parcells to Bellicheck...

Great coaching!...That's a big coup for Pats...plus Charlie and Romeo...Great assistants...Brady's a wimnner too and that helps much.

My team is Big Blue...Good to see we wiped out an old 49er ghost in Garcia.I figured them for a 500 year but looks like the troops are rallying around Tom C.It's great seeing
the other team make more mistakes/turnovers versus last year's Fassel team.Hey...what do you know...Tom C...another Parcells disciple.

As for the Sox-Yanks...Playoffs are a whole new ball game.
It should be exciting.

Cheers!

coaching makes the difference. I like Coughlin to come in and shake things up but eventually the players tune him out. Herm Edwards is one of the more underrated head coaches in the NFL IMHO. (The most overated? John Gruden, no question!)

He took a very good team that another coach had built and got it a Super Bowl then he proceeded to destroy it.  Who knows what would have happened in Tampa had Dungy been retained, maybe the Bucs would have kept knocking on the door or maybe they would be working on their second to fourth Super bowl.  Only god knows, but it is obvious that Gruden has severely damaged the Bucs team, this is ok with me because the one team that I feared seeing the Patriots play in the Super Bowl was the pre-Gruden Bucs, those guys were freaking killers on defense.
Thirsty. I feel that you would be safe bending over in the shower with this year's Sox behind you. The only ones that are going to get screwed this year are the Yankees.

12 years, no Super Bowl wins and all he gets is contract extensions. Where else can you get a raise and reward from last year's mediocre 6-10?

Agree with your point about Gruden...also, appears that the Jets will be the only serious competition for the Patriots in the AFC East this year (yeah, only two wks. into the season, but so far...???)...Pats look very strong again, but Jets have matched 'em so far...hopefully, a harbinger to a return to the play-offs and a farfetched (maybe)Super Bowl run...let's see what happens.  I am a Jets season ticket holder, so I have a vested interest here!  J-E-T-S, JETS!!  JETS!  JETS!!  As for Yanks-Sox, Pats in 2004/5 stated that Yanks have cakewalk to postseason...actually, we have the Twinkies on our schedule this week...complete w/ Johan Santana, the sure fire Cy Young award winner this year.  Can Yanks beat him?  No one else has since first half of year...but we broke Brad Radke's 15 game winning streak several years ago...let's see if we can break Santana's steak also! Going forward, hopefully, Yanks and Sox get thru ALDS successfully to meet in ALCS...we all know the history, but if this happens...prediction here is Yanks prevail in seven...Bosox lead 3-2 in bottom of 9th at the Stadium, two outs, nobody on...Keith Faulk pitching...Derek Jeter fists a bloop single into right to keep things alive...A-Rod steps to the plate...first pitch stike, and then..."The 0-1...swung on, and hit in the air to deep left...Ramirez is going back...THAT BALL IS HIGH...IT IS FAR...IT ISSS...GONE!!!  An A-BOMB FOR A-ROD...BALLGAME OVER...AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES OVER...YANKEES WIN...TH-H-H-H-H-H-E YANKEES WIN!!!   Ok, this is a fantasy...but I'm a Yankee fan....and reality here is oftentimes better than fantasy!  Will the Sox break the curse in 2004?  Yogi says "they never beat us"...who are we to argue with Yogi?...go Yanks!!...go Jets!!

JRZ Bill

p.s.  As for the Cubs in the NL...their curse lives as well!   What disaster awaits them?  Stay tuned and watch...it will likely not be pretty!

Last year as the Pats played and won one game at a time, we watched them clinch the AFC East. They did not celebrate. As one, the players responded, "We haven't won anything yet."

The Pats then won the AFC Championship. Again, they did not celebrate. As one, the players responded, "We haven't won anything yet."

The Patriots did the celebrating when their job was done, after winning the Super Bowl.

On the other hand, the Red Sox celebrated clinching the Wild Card last night in Tampa as if their job was done. I would love to see the Sox win a World Series but it's clear to me, they just don't get it! :(

Go Sox!!! "We're #2!!! ;)

Gruden was overrated in Oakland. For all the whinning people outside of New England did after the Pats beat the Raiders in the "tuck rule" game, people forget that Gruden's Raiders backed into the playoffs that year losing 3 of the last 4. Had they won 1 more game the final game would have been played in Oakland rather than Foxboro. Good coaches have their teams ready to play their best at the end of the season. Back to the "tuck rule" game. In the series prior to the contraversal play, Oakland had the ball 2nd down 3 yards to go. Chucky chose to run twice and the Pats got the ball back. The tuck rule play never would have happened if Oakland got the first down.
