Sorry about your loss.
There was a relatively popular provider in Boston TER ID 149615 who kept someone's deposit. It was discussed on the Board and revealed a lot about the provider. She took a lot of heat but I don't remember if she ever returned the deposit. By recent reviews, she's doing OK but she doesn't post to the Boston board so much anymore.
Based on that, I'd say it's OK to "out" your date and maybe she'll try to defend herself here.
So this is my first post (well, second, as I also posted this on the newbie board) on these forums, though I have been a member for some time. Unfortunately, the reason for my post is due to misfortune.
I had scheduled an appointment by email with a provider who advertised a NYC trip. I called and left a v/m to verify my appointment, and I later received a v/m from her with location details… in her hometown. Confused, I called her back and asked what was going on, and was disconnected/hung up on. I called again, and went straight to v/m, so I left a message. I called a third time, and again went straight to v/m.
Here’s the bad part… I paid for the appointment in advance via PayPal. Yes, stupid, I know, and lesson learned. In my defense, I had prepaid for sessions a couple of times in the past with reputable providers with no issues, and this provider had good reviews, so I thought she was legitimate.
I am upset, but realize my own fault in this. I don’t expect to recover my funds, and will chalk it up to an expensive life lesson. But I do feel like I should at least report this, as a warning for others. Is there a proper etiquette/procedure for this?
Actually you can recover your money. Just dispute the charges on Paypal.
Tends to favor the payer.......
Or does the date still have to happen for it to be a rip off?
you book an overnight. Providers usually ask for a 25-50% deposit for dates lasting more than 12 hours...
Travelling providers often as for payments in advance as well. Sucks to book airfare and a hotel, and then get a last minute cancellation.
I won't ever pay in advance again. Been ripped off one too many times, and there are soooooo many girls who don't require it.
First email her privately and ask for the money back.
If she says no, or doesn't respond OUT HER.
This is a board where we are supposed to look after one another.
I'd appreciate knowing who this person is.
Thanks-
KD
Totally agree. If she does not make amends, we all need to know who this is.

This type of activity hurts all of us, providers and clients. Since you are asking, the proper thing to do is #1 dispute with paypal. #2 Ask for your$ back from the perp. via e-mail or voice mail #3 Warn the rest of us with any and all information you have on this individual.
The biggest thing is for you to learn your lesson and do not let this incident jade your outlook on any other provider. Move down the road and have some fun. Remember losing some money is nothing compared to what you could have lost if this person showed up and wanted to rob you or set you up for something else. You can always make more money. Consider this a right of passage. Congrats you have now joined the community.
Just an old, fat, ugly fuck with an opinion.
Took a little longer than I would have liked, but she got in contact with me and explained what happened, and I got my refund.
Unfortunately it looks like your attempt to purchase VIP membership has failed due to your card being declined. Good news is that we have several other payment options that you could try.
We thank you for your purchase!
