Local Urgent Care office can help her & will be a lot cheaper than ER.

Have her go to Urgent Care center & she'll be seen much quicker & it will be about about $200 plus some scrips maybe.

You'll find a few. I knew insurance was an issue, and that's why I suggested Urgent Care rather than ER.  ERs are absurdly expensive, and unless you have 3 gunshots to the head will wait for hours in the waiting room.  ERs are based on a triage system where the most hurt or dying are seen 1st.  Your girl will wait 5 hours.

Most Urgent Care Docs are very competent, and many were former  ER Docs that hated the ER stress.

The best hospital in your area that has a fully staffed ER for paying cash customers/patients (wink) is Winthrop Hospital (ER, Infectious Disease specialists) in Westbury, LI.  Just across Eisenhower Park from where you are in Uniondale (Nassau Col area). Dash across the park or jump on the Meadowbrook Pkwy, exit M-1 Old Country Rd West, make a right turn at the Nassau Cty Couthouse, across the railroad tracks, the hospital is right in front of you.
Desperation hospital - Nassau County Medical Center, indigent ER, not really for the paying patient, but trauma area is where they dispatch all police injuries on NCPD officers.

Left private info with Michelle.

Hi Everyone,

One of my ladies had injections and at the injection site she is very swollen and in a lot of pain. Need to know if I should have her go to Plastic Surgeon since it was cosmetic or straight to ER. Please send me Doctors names and numbers. These injections she said were illegal injections and I think this may be  serious but I have no idea where to send this young lady. She isnt from New York not even this Country so she is a bit scared but I want to get her the best help I can asap. Any help at all I would appreciate.

Thanks
Pam

I would recommend Winthrop hospital in Mineola as well. A couple of years ago, cut my thumb real bad while using a butcher knife, a real dumb move, but they did a very good job of stitching up my thumb.

If she got injections with a needle used on others or medication that might be contaminated then in addition to antibiotics she should get tested for baseline hepatitis titers and perhaps a few other things.  Then repeat in 3 months to make sure she doesn't have anything worse than a soft tissue infection.

DON't Go to urgent care
they are not staffed by trained ER physicians and do not handle emergencies well. They often tell you to go to ER anyway. ER best

There was an internet story of a person injecting fix-a-flat and cement in womens asses in florida (no joke)

Dont fool around with anything but an ER

I would still have her tested for other infectious diseases. Fillers don't come in a bottle. Its one syringe that is prefilled so drawing up from another bottle sounds fishy

doesn't matter if the needle is clean and the bottle is not.  Once the needle is in the bottle it's contaminated.

Staph is a big problem from these types of injections and if not treated can create an abscess that can extend into the orbit (eye socket) and then to the brain so you did the right thing getting her on antibiotics.
