So here I am living in the Big Apple and gosh darn, I have NOT seen any Broadway shows. I have decided to see the TOP 3 Shows over the next month. Anyone have any suggestions to which ones I should see? I would appreciate that so much! mmuah!!!! xoxoxoxo CC
... but there are plenty of shows to see at the moment. There are 40 Broadway theaters, what kind of show would you be interested in seeing (musical, play)?
The no 1 longest running show is "The Phantom of the Opera". Probably "Chicago" and "Mamma Mia" will always be there for you and "The Book of Mormon" is very hot right now. Wanna drink beer in the aisle and shake your bootie a little? See "Rock of Ages" or "Hair". Would you like to see a bunch of kids on stage? See "Billy Elliot". Do you prefer boys boys boys on stage ? Somebody else already mentioned "Jersey Boys". Did "Spiderman" open yet?
Ahhhhh....already I am getting excited to see shows starting this weekend! So many to see! I would love to see Chicago, Rock of Ages, and Jersey Boys. I will try hard to get into the Book of Mormon. I prefer singing and dancing to just a play (although I know there are great ones out there). Thank you so much for the notes - very informative! xoxoxoxo CC

Memphis is extraordinarily entertaining and during the finale, the entire audience gave a standing ovation and continued clapping and stomping their feet to the music and the beat. No one wanted to leave the theater. Also, Bette Midler's Priscilla Queen of the desert is worth the price of admission. I also loved Million Dollar Quartet based upon a true evening that Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins met at a studio and did their songs..It was like watching the original performers. I have always loved Brooke Shields ever since her early acting debut in the movie Pretty Baby. I have seen all her shows and recently saw the Adams Family. I was surprised to truly enjoy it. It's very campy and over the top with great rock star musical performances and down to earth comedy. And lest I forget, Rock of Ages rocked me back to see it a second time. Many of these shows are available at the TDF Box office for half price on Broadway and W. 47th Street within a few hours before show time. New York, New York is a wonderful town.
OMG!! thank you SO MUCH for that - I am going to my first one this weekend. Will bring back my FIRST Broadway Show REVIEW since I moved to the Big Apple! Again, I so appreciate everyone's advice ! Cheers! xoxoxooxox CC

The new season is just gearing up so look for a lot of new shows to start- NY Times online has reviews of most of the shows- If you like musicals Anything Goes did well last year- the lead actress Sutton Foster is one of the best singers on broadway, War Horse is supposed to be really good and did well at the Tony's = other established musicals include Billy Elliot, Mamma Mia, Wicked- for some of the shows that have been out a while- go during the week and look online for discounts-
Some comedies are coming out- Relatively Speaking is a three act comedy one act by Woody Allen, one by one of the Coen brothers and one other
