scriptfixer is taking up way too much bandwidth on this board.
I thought that this would die down but he seems to keep posting
new threads, people respond, and you know what happens.
His posts have degenerated into name calling, character
attacts, and are not contributing anything new to the board.

What can we do about this?  Everyone, of course, is free to
post.  But there's got to be some way to remedy the situation.

I suggest we make a concerted effort to do something.  My
suggestion is to ignore his posts.  Does anyone else have a
suggestion?  You can PM if you would like not to post.

BTW, if anyone flames me with a PM I might read your first
email but you will put on my ignore list and that will be
that.  As providers like to say - serious replys only.

In fact...I'm surprised he's not on moderated status.

I'm a firm advocate of the first ammendment right of free speech
but he's treating this board like its the wild west and seems to be taking pot shots at just about everybody...but even more important than that is his obvious bias allegiance to one agency and his lack of discretion when utilizing an alias to obtain information on other services in the NY TER community.We don't need the extra possibilities of unwanted exposure. Even then, his SF and DB posts appear to have an agenda.

I think he's done more harm than good to the agency he treasures so much.

Everyone is free to post but the QUALITY of posts matters.
My suggestion was an attempt to raise the quality of posts
by minimizing the low quality, if you will, of one poster's
messages.  Given that he seems to answer every post, ignoring
him seemed a good suggestion.  No contradiction at all.

Surely, you can't equate the post of that person with the few
posters (including myself) who have tried to point out the
error of his ways.  If you notice, none of these latter posters
have stooped to name calling.  We try to argue our points with
words.  Nobody in this group is calling anyone else
"scum-sucking".

This is an attempt to lower the heat in the kitchen.

I don't have a problem with him posting, I just find it amusing that he seems to hindering, not helping NY Confidential's cause.

Every single post I have made has been a defensive post; to defend myself against the ceaseless character attacks and questions about my ethics.  

Don't forget where all this started.  This entire drama started with Seguy's post attacking NY Confi.   When Jason and then I, as his friend and satisfied client, tried to reply to Seguy's accusations, there were a number of people who put up post after post filled with name calling and character attacks without knowing the full facts behind Seguy's complaint.   I was standing up for myself,  a friend, and an agency that has been good to me.  Both Jason and I tried in good faith to clarify some statements that were misinterpreted by the users of this board.  

However, our explanations were met with even more attacks.   I, for one, will not put up with ANYONE questioning my ethics, my honesty, or my loyalty to those who deserve it.  I will not roll over and play dead because so many of you seem intent on beating the same dead horse.  Look at who started this latest thread right here. It wasn't me.  I was done posting on this issue until someone else revived the entire issue all over again by saying I should be silenced.  

So don't accuse me of not letting this die.  Just expect that I will ALWAYS respond to someone's unfair or uniformed statements about me, my friends, or anyone else who is unfairly chastized on this board.    If you people are serious about putting this issue to bed, then let's end it right here and right now.  That means no angry or agressive responses to this post , which is simply an attempt to explain why I have been compelled to repeatedly post on this board.  Let's see if all of  you can resist the temptation to attack me again based on this latest post.   I am one tenacious son-of-a-bitch, so If you continue to attack me, I will continue to defend myself.

What is amazing, truly amazing, in all this is that NYCon and scriptfixer/doobie-brother/whatever still don't know what this is all about and for whatever reason are bringing up--again and again--the threads which condemn them out of their own posts. Nothing anyone else has said about NYCon has been as damning as what NYCon and scriptfixer/doobie-brother post.

These threads are invaluable for anyone in NYC considering NYConfidential as an agency.  For anyone who wandered in, here is the story--go to the initial post of 4/8/2004 9:47 PM post of seguy entitled: "A Warning to NY Confidential Customers" and subsequent threads, particularly "Regarding NY Confidential's Threat" by thats_amore from 4/10/2004 7:25AM.

In a nutshell, here is what the threads say:
seguy complains that he didn't get to spend $1400 for a two-hour session with a NYCon girl. The initial complaint is of no real  interest to anyone, except that NYCon, in two subsequent posts threatens to publish the real name of seguy.  Caught in the spotlight, they try to back-track by propounding the wacky theory that because NYCon is owned by a lawyer, all of NYCons customers are protected by "attorney-client" Privilege.  Astoundingly enough, both the threat and the wacky legal theory substantiate what seguy had predicted in his initial complaint: that NYCon was very sloppy with customer confidentiality and that the management of NYCon thought their customers were idiots.  NYCon's posts proved just those two points.

I am a new member here, basic and not yet VIP, but I have been lurking here for a while and have a knowledge of all this NY Confi stuff that's been going on.  And here's my .02 on this topic:

We all should move on.  Those out there that are NY Confi fans will continue to patronize them.  Those that see them as a liability, such as me, will avoid that agency like the plague.

What we are doing is taking an invaluable resource (TER) and turning in to a rag.  It's like converting the NY Times to the National Inquirer.  I for one would like to see this board used for some good.  Like the exchange of ideas and information about our little hobby.  Or a lively discussion of issues like security, STDs, etc.  It should not be a medium for flames and sleazy shit.

Just the thoughts of an outside observer, now coming to the inside.

I brought this up in an earlier post (under a different thread) I made.

Everyone should be able to post their ideas, within reason.  However, one of the rules that has been established for posting on discussion boards is that the content SHOULD NOT BE MEAN SPIRITED OR DEGENERATE INTO PERSONAL ATTACKS.

Personally, these exchanges with such negative tone bore me.  Let's keep it fun, keep it light and move on.  Let's take up room on the boards discussing more interesting and important issues.

Nuff said.  This is the last post I will make on this subject.

I agree with you Exairborne. But you have to understand the true evolution of this dispute.  

Some people INSIST upon misrepresenting earlier statements that have been made to the point where they become absolute fabrications.  Primarily the threat to expose a real name.  That was NEVER threatened by NY Confi.  Jason was refering to his REAL TER HANDLE and thought that Seguy should make his complaint on the board with his real TER handle so that other users can make their own personal judgments and assesments.  Other users, for some reason, have twisted Jason's words (and mine) and made posts that cast both of us in a very negative light.  

I was wondering where a lot of the anger directed at NY Confi was coming from, I checked the posted reviews for those users who were not using aliases.  And what I found was that they primarily use the very low-end providers, and one persoon doesn't have a single review.  And if you check out Seguy's  review (I forget his real TER handle under which the review is posted) for the "date" that started all of this.  It's a positive review!  

I am a very tenacious person as you can tell from this series of postings.  When I feel a friend (or family member)  has been wronged or treated unfairly, I am like a junkyard dog who will defend them come hell or high water.  Well, we've all reached way past the high water mark, and I, for one, am getting on the Ark and sailing away.

.....I really don't give a flying green f*ck about your explanations of who dissed whom.  It doesn't matter.  It's just time to move on.
