subway dining should be a definte no-no. a banana is one thing but a plate of pasta is something else all together. if a person is sipping a starbuck's coffee with a scone and that train stops short i certainly wouldn't want to be in the vicinity. and as if there aren't enough rodents and other breeds of vermin living very nicely off people's eating habits i would not object to a food ban underground.

I have a banana on the PLATFORM while I do my lunges and stretches before hitting the ice!

But inside the actual car, no.  Unless I am really pressed for time -- then I will down the banana and leap up the stairs to make my lesson on time.

A law? That's crazy. What a waste of tax money. Recently on the news was a story about an altercation on the subway where a woman was minding her business and eating on the train and some uppity bitch decided to say something about it and it escalated from there into a physical altercation....... look up "spaghetti fight on subway" on YouTube you may be able to find it. I'll post it if i get the chance.....

The problem is not eating on the subway.  The problem is the tons and tons of garbage left behind by the pigs who do the eating on the subway.

But to say eating on the subway directly correlates to the vermin population is the most absurd notion I've ever heard...nuke Staten Island from orbit, it's the only way to be sure....lmfao! I take the Lexington Ave line everyday to the financial district. 99% of the time the train is very clean. Food ban is ridiculous.....ticket littering absolutely.

If they pass that law, (if).... I can blame evil eyes Cuomo whose should be paying attention to whats going on in Nyc's budget instead of buffing his nails during his... what ifs ...... with the nuclear possibilities.

going to buy a lottery ticket!!!!!!!!

Worth taking out..........

Why should Cuomo actually attend to his domestic responsibilities when he can prey upon the fear of the ignorant, via wrathful invocations and raising his ire towards the nuclear spectre, and boost his popularity in the polls.

The only good politician is a dead one.

...is the general reaction to stuff like this.

And it's this attitude which makes NYC such a shit-hole to live in.

but where else can you go to dinner at 11:30 at night? WHere else in the world, can one club close at 4am and another one open at 4am? Where else can you see the best plays and not to mention fashion? Where else in the world can you walk out your door at 3am and see a people walking around like it was the middle of the day? Where else in the world is one area (times square ) lit up like its the afternoon? Where else in the world do people travel from all around the country just to look at dirt. Yes folks, I am talking about Ground Zero. Try walking around that area and seeing how many people are from some where else. Where else in the world do people pay over 3k for an aprtment with no bedroom.. Midtown, yes folks you heard it right here..

New York has its ups and downs.. True.. But I would not want to live anywhere else..

ANd that my friends is this Nu Yawkas opinion. And we all know, Nu Yawkas have the only opinion that matters

All those rats are hiding out around all them lovely restaurants!!!

I haven't been to the Columbus Ave station in years......

That little park up at 72nd where Broadway & Amsterdam meet used to have SCARY large rodentia....

I remember hanging out on the bench and then all of a sudden you'd see the ivy just rustle in a fast line......at night they'd come out...bastards were the size of cats!!!!

4&5 line is clean (The trains...)......at least during the rush..... It is the East Side Line after all.........

I think it's kind of messed up .. it smells and other people might be hungry. Also it's gross when people are messy and leave food and wrappers hanging everywhere.
Just my thoughts.. muah!

I reserve public transportation for Europe and even then, I usually taxi.

The idea of using my fingers to eat amidst all that ickiness grosses me out, even opening my mouth on a train is out of the question....and I'm FAR from afraid of a little germ!

Of course, I was also raised to believe that only streetwalkers walk and smoke at the same time. What the hell is that about??

1. Eating on the train: VERY RUDE!
2. People who are coughing and sneezing on the train or bus without covering their mouth: VERY, VERY RUDE AND DISGUSTING!

These are all adults, NOT KIDS, who should be shameful because people who do these things on the subway or bus obviously have no manners WHATSOEVER! These people are VERY, VERY RUDE! Let alone simple common sense!

I get very annoyed especially with #2 and sometimes it gets to the point where I just want to punch the person in the face and I'm not kidding! I also cough back at them loud enough so they can hear it and I love to see them react making a face or moving away! Very nice!

I even said to a guy one time "cover your mouth when you sneeze, that's germs!" I had to talk to this guy who is an adult about this like he is a 5 year old! I mean seriously! I am 100% not afraid to come up to anyone for their rude behavior! They will hear my mouth! I don't care who they are and size does not matter to me!

As we got of the train, we were both walking up the stairs, he was behind me and I purposely made a loud fart right in his face (it's sure stunk and I didn't care about the people around me) for coughing on me! (Sorry but the guy deserved it!) I love the reaction on his face! He got disgusted! That's what he gets!

I don't blame you why you don't like taking the NYC subway! I congratulate you for buying a car and not taking the NYC subway. I'm planning on doing the same as well!

I would also like to congratulate Pete Malachowsky (link below). He takes pictures of people for their rude behavior and posts them on his twitter account.

Sorry but I had to rant and express how I feel about rudeness on NYC public transportation.
