I have had many, many discussions with her on her participation in the hobby with regards to her music biz.  If you knew her like I do, you would know she is _proud_ to be a well sought out provider.  I don't know how many times she has said she will never leave the biz.

I posted the information on the contest for other who know her to revel in her good success.

This was in a previous thread, but not exactly highlighted.

Playboy.com recently had a contest for "America's Best Unsigned Band"....and Ana won!!!

See http://www.playboy.com/arts-entertainment/features/unsignedband/

Does she get a contract for winning the contest? Or just some publicity from Playboy?

What type of music does she play? Does she mainly do covers or original songs?

I believe she gets to open for a well-known band.  There was an earlier article on playboy.com that went into the specifics.

Go back and click on the link in the article for her song "Mother of a hit song" (MOFO).  I think it accurately captures the spirit of her work -- but MOFO is not the limit of the breadth of her songs.  I also enjoyed the MOFO video.

She also did very well on www.freeworldradio.com and more of her music is there.  Last time I checked, there was a link under the "divas" section to her music.

AFAIK, all her songs are her own, or are written in collaboration with others.  When you hear her sing someone else's song, they are really well known songs, e.g., "Ramble On".

The band's new website is www.doxyband.com, but just the MOFO video is up.  Her old web site is www.analovelis.com.  It might still be up.   (It caused a small stir awhile ago as some people didn't get her tongue-in-cheek joke of her dying in a video and some thought she had actually passed.)

individual hobbyist's ego.  The rumor and cloud surrounding a lady would be hard to overcome.  Is it really worth the temporary boast of ego?

Please be considerate.
