I think TER has begun with the tweaks, and the site is much improved.   I find it much easier to read than I did before (I think TER changed the contrast) and "read" posts are now a different and darker color rather than a light green.

I still find it unduly difficult to find the text of a post.  Perhaps dark lines above and below the text of the post would set it off better so that it can be picked up more easily
