Need a decent hotel near convention without keycard?

Looking for a 3.5 star without a keycard around convention center. Will be staying up there in Sept, so could use some recommendations.

Ideally something within walking distance of Javits, but not terribly trashy in case my girlfriend decides to come. She likes to shop while I do the my boring security expo :(

anyways - any recommendations ladies

Staying in a hotel is far from illegal

and LE would simply call the hotels for the info, not ask for it on a fuckboard.

Its not that theyre paranoid. Likely the cops already know. Its not like new york has an abundance of rapid development.  

This is just a control issue. Measure of power over something else.
