Hello, I am thinking about going to Manhattan, NY next week. And I am not sure where is a good place to stay and work. If anyone could give me any advise I will really appreciate it. Thanks a lot!! Besos, Monique.
For me have always been the best places to stay when touring. The financial district is great for staying midweek days but weekends it is dead.
If you look on a map you'll see the layout of Manhattan, stay below Times Square and you should be good. Not sure where you are flying in from (apologies, i didn't check your profile) but expedia will give a cheaper rate on the hotel if you book both flight and hotel with them. Have fun and stay safe
Based upon your reviews, I think you would be VERY POPULAR in NYC. Please come (or is it cum?????) to the Big Apple VERY soon... ...and you can look me up while you're at it!!!!
I tried booking a combo rate from price line for both hotel and airfare to boston from California. I also did not bother to look at the details until it was too late. my flight from california had three lay overs and it took me 12 hours to get to boston.
If you don't know what the "locals" mean by midtown, UES, Wall St, etc., don't worry! A lot of locals get the areas wrong (but close) half the time. See an older post of mine on NYC neighborhoods with maps and links.
Also, although I agree that midtown is a good location, I distinguish less between "east" versus "west" and MORE between "central" versus "extremes". From west to east, the avenues (north - south streets) are numbered: 11th .. 10th .. 9th ...... 5th ...... 3rd ... 2nd ... 1st 5th Ave is the central N-S artery. To the east (Mad Park Lex 3rd) or to the west (6 7 8), anything close is good. Once you get east of 2nd Ave or west of 8th Ave it's no longer convenient and it's almost like being out in the boondocks. If you'd like my private tour of the Big Apple neighborhoods, please let me know.

Lol 5th avenue is center of East-West actually And "midtown" is central of North-South. HTH!
