I used a agency for the first time recently and had a wonderful experience- Appointment was easy to schedule and the screening process was fine. Representation of the provider was fine to- Only draw back I suppose, was not having the ability to communicate directly with the provider beforehand-    I am  asking the question, Why haven't I done this before and would like to know everyone's thoughts on the negative/positives of one over the oth

I work for an agancy here in California. My agancy has been around a long time and has a steller reputation, however thats not the case with a lot of agancys. Before my current agancy I worked for a less than honest agancy in San Fransico. They would bait and switch customers all the time, and as a small BBW I know that I fit in a nitch. This bait and switch would always put me in an and the client in an uncomfortable position. I dont misrepesent myself in any way, I would always rather a customer say "oh I wish you were a little bigger" than  "whoa this isnt what I was expecting." A number of agancys are guilty of bait and switch.  
Another Agancy practice is to upsale. The agancy charges one rate lets say 150$, that entire amount is the agancy cut and the girl is responsible for negotiating her rate once she arrives. Clients often think they are getting an all inclusive session when really that $150 is simply the cost for the girl showing up.

I think agancys are great and thats why I work for one. Its nice for the client, one verification or referance check and a large selection of girls, for the girl I dont have to worry about the time involved with booking and screening but just as you would do your reaserch when booking an Indy girl you have to do the same with agancys.

Depends on the service, of course...but generally, agencies are MUCH higher-volume. Think anywhere from 2-8 guys per day. And I did not always have time to shower...clients were late, overstayed, the agency told the next guy I'd be done by 5pm even tho the last guy got there at 4:30, etc. I was in such a hurry sometimes...it was all I could do sometimes to just reapply lipstick and smooth the bedspread...

Since the girls can't screen, some of the hobby world's  most undesirable clients can get appointments. Might mean that the guy before you was a complete asshole, and that could affect your session.  

I didn't have such a great attitude toward clients when I was an agency provider. I always felt worn out, overworked, sore, etc. I did not look forward to appointments for any reason EXCEPT the smell of green paper. In fact, I'll even go so far as to say that I resented most of my clients, as the demands on my body and time seemed disproportionate to what I considered reasonable.

Being independent...whole different world. I see men I'm comfortable with, and in most cases, actually like. I'm building my reputation/brand, so I have more of a stake in my level of service...I'm more open to actually enjoying myself. And, I rarely see more than 3-4 per WEEK.

There is a price to be paid for convenience. Just have to determine if it's worth it for you.

Pros of an Independent  
- all the money is yours, not being split with your agency
- you have control over who you see
- you personally screen everyone as throughly as you like
- you see as many or as little clients as you like
- you control your site, rates, hotels, everything

Cons of Independent
- you have to do everything YOURSELF which can be tiring sometimes

I've never been in an Agency, and even though the main Con can be annoying and it would be nice to just show up to an appointment without all the work (Lazy Luna, lol) I much prefer being Indie

My thought is the less folks that know my business the better.  If I'm paying $3-5k for a night, I should at least be able to have an email exchange or a phone call with the girl herself.  Even if I'm paying $1500 for a few hours, I don't think it's unreasonable to get some personal interaction before the date.

I get why there are assistants and agencies, and have no problem with the business plan, but it generally narrows the field for me.

Long time ago I used to use agencies frequently. But that was a different time back then. Just on the cusp of the internet becoming what it has blossomed into today.  

These days, I'm more apt to see an indy girl. There's a different kind of spirit with the indy girls. It's like comparing a movie produced at a giant studio to an art film produced by an indy company. Some of the giant studio films, you just gotta see, because of of all the flashy production. But the indy movies are all about passion and heart. And some of the indy film production companies get really good at what they do and they become sophisticated in their own right.  

If you can follow that analogy, you understand what I mean.
