I use my old iPhone as my 2nd phone.

When I created my hobby alter ego, I went all out.  Email, phone, p.o. box (long since gone) and even a separate birthday.  I spa or 2 wanted my birthday to use as a passcode, so I created one and then used it on all hobby sites that needed one.

This left me with a dilemma.  Which to celebrate.  I would occasionally get happy birthday messages from people on the fake date, but I never celebrated it like a real birthday.  Generally I just said thanks and told them that it was my fake birthday.

So, that got me thinking.  Has anyone else gone that deep into their fake identity, or am I the only overly paranoid one?

Incidentally, it's the actual, on my drivers licence, one that's coming up.  :-)

But Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Anthony Weiner, Eliot Spitzer, and the Secret Service should have talked to you first.

Since we've opened this secret identity thread, I have questions about the second phone, for both providers and hobbyists. What do you do with the second phone around other people, be they co-workers or significant others? Are they locked in the car, left at the office, in a gym locker? I personally find having one phone is easier to explain. (Hey it's a wrong number!) I don't have a good explanation for a second phone. My phone is ALWAYS with me, and is left on vibrate most of the time. I have a lot of civilian friends who text and email me, so it's not unusual to be responding to a message. But that's me.

And since I operate main stream biz as well as have friends/family, it is unusual for me to NOT be responding to a message lol

It's not fake, your celebrating your hobby life.  A lot of ladies celebrate their ATF's.  That much I know.

Always enjoy your posts!

When I got the new one, the old one essentially became an iPod.  At least, that's what I tell people.  I use it as an iPod so I don't run down the battery on my actual phone.  But in reality, I unlocked the old iPhone and use it as my hobby phone.

It also helps that I have an iPhone for work as well, so my wife is used to seeing me with 2 iphones, not knowing which is which.
