Sometimes this is way too much work

When I'm not online for a few hours, I shouldn't have to come home and spend 45 minutes cleaning the boards!

I asked a few of you guys to police yourselves. Obviously, you can't or won't do it. I'm a nice guy but I have my limits. Now you're making me look bad and that's one thing I won't tolerate! I don't like to moderate people but I have better things to do with my time than clean up after your foolishness.

It takes an aweful lot to piss me off but I'm getting pissed off! I try to be a nice guy but if people take advantage of that...well, as I've written previously, I have the final vote here. I don't want to (I don't have to moderate on Boston) but I will have to start using moderation status here more until things calm down. I didn't even have to moderate people when I came back after Dingus15 left. WTF???

I want to moderate my way and I will continue to do so for people who can handle unmoderated status.

When somebody posts something that makes them look bad, I leave it up. I think I've explained that a few times.

Porn links? Are you talking about the nude pictures. If you consider that porn, you are in the wrong business.

Just curious...why did you choose to post this under an alias. You do realize that moderators can see the username of anyone who posts using an alias. I don't mind you disagreeing with me but who are you hiding from with the alias?

I'm not disagreeing with you. Just asking if there was even more or a technical glitch that left a lot of stuff behind that WE could see that you couldn't.  It wasn't my weekly announcement or touring info that got pushed down or drowned out so... i have no reason to complain.

Why the alias?  Don't want the exposure of my name,website or anything.  I'm sick to the point where i sound awful and don't even want to have to return phone calls to say i'm not available... since i sound like i should be avoided for a week or more.  But, i'll probably be better in a day or so.

The "alias" actually predates my username, *was* my *old username*, has more history than my username and was transferred from a dif account.

I mean, really!  Who thinks that just because the people on the board think for themselves when it comes to sex, that they'll be into denigrating racial stereotypes?  Who makes that connection?  I don't get it.  

A time or two, maybe; I figure "ok, free speech, not for me but let it pass".  But filling the boards with post after post of this stuff, and increasing it when others complain is just offensive.  Yes, even the KKK has the right to free speech, but having the right to do it doesn't make it right to do it.

If people won't tone it down when they know they're offending people, then I guess that's what moderators are for.

Shit, you let mine playout when out was down with the punches, which I give you all the more credit too for doing. Lesson learned, thank you.
HOWEVER...
There are too many sh&tbag things entering the boards as of late. Look I like a sense of humor but somethings are just downright sily to the point of annoying. Hel, I would be pissed if I were a moderator and came to the board to "clean up". As if NYC hasn't has enuff of the poloticans already!!!

I agree about the picture threads sometimes being too much. I encourage a little off topic posting but people have to use some restraint. Maybe it's an NY thing? (I know I'm going to get some heat for that...just kidding

Members shouldn't have to search through a half page of extraneous posts to find the schedule/ads and ISOs. At the same time, I don't want to censor the board community's collective personality.

Some well-meaning local posters have trouble seeing when certain threads stop being funny, cute or diversionary and instead become "bla, bla, bla."

I guess I'll just have to be a little more heavy handed when threads start to get old or go over the top.

Whatever I do with this situation, everybody is not going to be happy. I won't lose any sleep over that fact.

Believe it or not, this is where moderating gets to be fun.
