Hi New Yorkers! I am in Manhattan until the 15th and I would love to know what some of the must-see holiday shows or events in town are. I've seen the Christmas tree and ice skated at Rockefeller Center two years ago, and this time I would like to see/do another New York holiday program.  Is there a show you recommend? Or an area that must be seen to be believed? I would love your input! Thanks! :)

Wicked is a great Broadway show that you are sure to enjoy.

There is a nice ice skating rink on the South end of Central Park that's bigger than Rock Center.

Take a stroll through the meetpacking district at the designer's windows. Beautifull!

Great! I just got back after a nice morning round of exploring the city - trying not to get lost on the subway system. I will venture out again in the afternoon to see more of your suggestions. Thank you for these great ideas! :)

Get a pastrami on rye. IF you don't like pastrami then don't bother going. And it's not just about the food, it's about the place and it's vibe. BTW, bring your appetite and wallet. The sandwhich is huge and cost $15.

in Central Park!  Didn't know that even though I'm in NYC frequently and will be there on Thursday.  I miss skating!  Canadians skate as soon as they walk, lol.  Or before!

Dear Nora,

The best show on Broadway is Anything Goes...you'll enjoy it.

go to bryant park instead. Not only is it free (admission, not skate rental) but it is less crowded during the day than wollman rink. Also more convenient to all the midtown holiday fun (the christmas market right there, rock center, etc)

Show: WICKED

And for the natives who like skating, I used to be a pro fig skater and can wholeheartedly vouch for city ice pavillion. Sure it's in LIC, but it's super easy to get to and has the best cared for ice in NYC. :)

so I used to be really good.  I will be interested to see how bad I am now, lol.  I have a pic of me in skates when I was 1.5 years old.  That's how we Canadians roll:)
