The idea just popped into my head. My apologies if it is in bad taste, but I really am curious.  I am speaking in regards to the day of and the subsequent days, I would love to hear the stories. PM me if you would like.

I lost my brother due to the 9/11 attacks. That date brings very bad memories to me. I wish I was like you and I could joke about that date, but to some of us 9/11 was a horror show come true.

Hello,
I'll respond to your message.
It's weird we remember the tradegy....
I was in DC 9/11... I was scheduled a 10am and the client showed.
The TV was on in the back round... Low volume...
The Black Out.. I was in Detroit... It's funny it was getting really hot in the room, I had candles lit and my sound machine
listing to ocean waves it was on batteries.
Than an alarm went off, I got nervous.. blew out the candles.
I had about 5 minutes left ended with a nice feather massage.
We ended with a kiss, and the client left back to work...
OMG my phone rang... MOlly you got any electric? Check lights, and the thermostat.OMG I don't... I opened my hotel door in my silky robe, all the guest was in shocked. There I am standing talking to guest in my robe. (LOL).
Took a rinse...

I was on the 7th floor, I just thought of the client shelping down 7 flights of stairs.(LOL)
That is my story...A nice client drove me to Ohio where there was electric. We had a nice dinner, nothing fancy,
got a hotel room, and next day drove me to the airport.
Thats is my story I'm sticking to it.
Smooches
Molly
PS When I light and blow out a candle I always make a prayer

lost my brother and several friends.
Unless you are a NY'er you won't realize what that day did to us.
Please have some respect.

I was in Tampa with a certain person and one of the few hurricanes in that area came in. Where we were located, you couldn't get out until the next morning. What a bonus!

I have always enjoyed your posting and would even like to meet up with you when you come back to NYC again but this is extremely delicate to discuss.  I have many clients that are still going thru quite a lot, any type of discussing of this is not a good idea.  We all have stories.

So when will you visit in the summer?

I'm with you, Gina -- I also lost five friends and colleagues.  Sometimes it's better to not voice what we're wondering.

There is no way I could possibly understand, or comprehend the events of 9/11 from a New Yorker's perspective.  It wasn't my intention to be disrespectful, and again I apologize to all. I tried to change the vein of this thread to the blackouts instead, but that seems to have gone flat.

I see great value in talking about difficult topics, and I think it is healthy and healing, but if it is too difficult, I understand. I got some amazing PMs and e-mails regarding this. I think sharing helps me understand and helps to lessen the pain.

I have experienced my own personal disaster (my studio burned down a year ago, and I lost most of everything) so I have always felt a personal connection to those that have experienced loss in New York.  So, I just want to put my coffee cup down and give all of you a big hug, from the bottom of my heart. I feel your pain. I am so sorry.
