Re: States that want to shut down their strip clubs will succeed.
Clubs in other states will get the money that no longer gets spent in NY.
But the local dancers, whether it be NYC or Boston, can't just start working at a club far away. They are out of a job that provided them with a higher wage than, say, working at Wal-mart or the local supermarket. Without assistance, they can't suddenly decide to become a LICENSED hair dresser or nail salon beautician ... or lawyer or doctor. Will those girls left behind turn to escorting?
I have lived in the Boston area most of my life and been going to strip clubs for 35+ years. Mass has a "no contact" law and because of this I have only paid for one lap dance in Mass during my entire life, and that was as a favor to a dancer who had been my favorite for a few years...and she was leaving to get married.
I was a Naked I guy, myself. No dances of ANY sort at that place, just tipping the stage dancer
Instead of spending my $ on "air dances", I would go to Florida twice a year and get 6 months worth of lap dances in a week. I would spend around $1000 that week on full-grind lap dances, which lately also come with HJ and BBBJ if you know where to look.
But even if a dancer with no more places to dance (due to closures) from up north goes to FL for 1 week twice a year, there is NO WAY that can earn 52 weeks of former dance income in 2 weeks of dancing in FL. YOU can spend 26 weeks of dance money in 1 week, but they can't earn 26 weeks of dance money in 1 week.
Plenty of hot dancers in FL that don't mind being touched. Inside the clubs in Mass are men and women staring at each other pissing and moaning about nothing going on. Men don't spend their money and women complain they aren't making any...but quick to tell you about state law if you try touching them.
And that's partially why I'm wondering to what extent dancers forced out of old-style (previously accepted in their locale) dancing will turn to escorting to make ends meet.
