It's been years since I've been to the clubs since I get a better bang for my buck via TER activities. Here's a partial list to start with, but do some additional checking.
Flashdancers and it's sister clubs
Private Eyes (a few blocks from Flashdancers)
New York Dolls (Financial District)
Lace
Hustler Club
... that's all I've got for now.
.
Check out:
TUSCL.com The Ultimate Strip Club List
for more info and reviews.
.
Some advice:
do not use credit cards; bring a set amount of cash and when it runs out, you're done.
.
The high end clubs like Flashdancers do not tolerate hanky-panky. They need to protect their liquor and operating license more than they need to protect a hottie dancer. (Some get away with hanky-panky, but don't press your luck if you don't know the layout of the land.)
.
Bottle Service is an expensive bottle of cheap champagne with obligatory tips for service.
.
If anybody asks, "I don't have any credit cards with me. No more cash. Sorry."
I have client who wants to visit a very upscale Gentleman's club in the city with beautiful ladies.
Any recommendations please?
Thanks

Found this article from 2014 on closing strip clubs in NYC:

Making Strip Clubs Go Dry, Then Go Away
.
Note the picture (which I will try to paste here). In 2014, one hour of dances was $300. In 2014, $300 could get an hour of other fun with, IMO, a happier ending elsewhere.
.
I don't mean to stereotype, but this is going to sound that way. Some dancers are dancing because of limited skills and limited opportunities elsewhere. If the strip clubs are forced to close, so some of those dancers turn to escorting?
.
Exotic Dancing: legal; bouncers on scene to deter bad behavior; should be paying at least SOME taxes on their "independent contractor" dancing income; etc.
Escorting: not legal; personal safety based on verification; undeclared income with no paper trail, some avoid paying taxes altogether; etc.
.
EDIT: The photo attached is from the NYT. I think it's fair use but if anyone disagrees, please delete the pic and let readers go to the NYT link.

Clubs in other states will get the money that no longer gets spent in NY.
I have lived in the Boston area most of my life and been going to strip clubs for 35+ years. Mass has a "no contact" law and because of this I have only paid for one lap dance in Mass during my entire life, and that was as a favor to a dancer who had been my favorite for a few years...and she was leaving to get married.
Instead of spending my $ on "air dances", I would go to Florida twice a year and get 6 months worth of lap dances in a week. I would spend around $1000 that week on full-grind lap dances, which lately also come with HJ and BBBJ if you know where to look.
Plenty of hot dancers in FL that don't mind being touched. Inside the clubs in Mass are men and women staring at each other pissing and moaning about nothing going on. Men don't spend their money and women complain they aren't making any...but quick to tell you about state law if you try touching them.
