Ok, I never use an agency always go the indy route. For some reason I believe my info is safer. Who knows. The reason I ask is that I went to an agencies website, I wanted to arrange something but when I got to the contact/screening page I am asked for my full name, which I am always leary of. Should I be that concerned?

What do my fellow hobbyists say.

I am sure this question has been asked a thousand times but.......

I hate, hate, hate being asked for my personal info. I have provided it to a few ageencies once I see that othr hobbyists have used them and that they have been around for awhile with no LE problems. But I like you feel much safer going Indy than through an agency- the girl has to be outrageous for me to use an agency.

well Im not a hobbiest but I can say that it can go both ways. A plus with some reputable agencies is that once you are verified your information is trashed and you are given a client ID number. I can only speak on my agencies behalf but we dont want your info to pry or cause trouble and for discretionary reasons again its never kept.

You never know what's inside a person's head or what's in their records. It can go either way. An agency can keep your records just as easily as an indy. I can't tell you how many email blasts I get from indy's that will be visiting the area and a lot of them are from gals I never even saw before but expressed interest in but our schedules didn't work out. Still they kept my info. You just have to hope you're dealing with honest people that won't abuse your info. No guarantees either way.

I don't use agencies for this reason alone.  (The one that I do use is run by a provider I know from when she was Indy so the agency has none of my info.)

Even with the best intentions agencies have an incentive to keep your data to bargain with LE if they ever get busted.  That is much less the case for indies.

do you need my last name? All the providers I have contacted have never asked such personal info. My references speak for themselves, and that has always been enough.

At your agency you even want my drivers license? Why is that info necessary? I'm just curious as to why this info is relevant. Is it for a background check? What are the reasons any agency might have.

In the end I understand its to protect the providers. I feel like I am taking out a mortgage with all the info I am providing.

No the designer I chose puts that form on the site. It is not necessary for you to put your address in or your drivers license. But as for having your last name is for verification. Why would I need my clients name as a bargaining tool for LE? Once you are verified its trashed.

Agencies tend to be more of a target by LE than an indie. With one bust you get a lot of girls and Johns. Indies don't really attract the limited attention of LE, thus your personal info is more secure.

Remember the DC madam and the names she offered up.

And see what happened to the DC madam? How many times do you see an Indy getting busted and along with all her cash they find her little notebook with all her clients info. We all assume some risk in this hobby, but screening is why reputable companies stay around. There are exceptions to every rule.

TER is very helpful, if you have a million reviews of reputable ladies then some of your screening info can be bypassed. If you have whitelist referrals that helps. Theres a million different ways to screen but its safety first.

IMHO I think theres more risk to seeing someone who doesnt screen then seeing someone who requires a little basic info for safety purposes.

But please focus on the keyword here your information is NOT saved after you are verified.

Since TER has a whitelist, why don't most agencies just use that with say a first name and the references. Work info, last names not needed. If a TER member has say, at least 5 whitelist references wouldn't that suffice?

If some of the agencies could give some of their thoughts I would appreciate.

Once you established a list of referrals then you can hook up with an agency as they ask for local references.
