New to the mix and now here seeking a photographer in Manhattan.  

Ladies feel free to provide any helpful info, please.

There are local photogs but also many that tour. They rent studio space or other venues for their usually pre-scheduled shoots while on tour. Whoever you look consider, look at examples of their work on their website or at the actual ads. In fact, if you see a photo style you like in someone's ads, look for the photo credit or contact the Provider and ask her who did the pics.

Search and read the newbie board for more help and advice on photo shoots. WATERMARK your pics. Always make sure it is not just a photog who is boudoir / sensual friendly but also Provider friendly. (A Provider reported that a photog didn't want his sexy pics used for hobby purposes and demanded that she take them down. The photog owned the copyrights so she had to take them down and do another shoot with someone else.) Make sure you know what you'll get for your scheduled time (1 hour, 2 hours, ...): so many (40? 80?) snaps taken and N (maybe only 6-10) final image files for your use. And so on.

There is a Provider-Photographer who does some work in a professional NYC studio but I forget her name.

Do you have VIP and access to PM? There is one photog who comes to NYC and has very reasonable intro rates (I am told). I don't want to give him a free "ad" but I can send more info and you can check his website.

Google the studio name (Bad Kitty Photography . com ) and you'll get their groupon ad and then be able to locate their studios.

(What the heck: Search the boards for Aldo, Black Lotus, Scott Church, Jason Ryan, ... There are MANY good options. And search the boards to avoid the bad options! I really suggest that you search the Newbie board, as well. And ask more Qs!)

I've shot with the likes of Black Lotus & Hello Miss and will be again later this year. I ADORE them both.

I am also hoping to shoot with Blue Egg Boudoir next Spring. A highly reputable colleague (re: provider) owns Blue Egg Boudoir in Manhattan. The photos are beaming with authenticity which is something I think our industry is moving towards. I've included the link for your pleasure.  

However, if you're wanting to step away from industry photographers, then like others have stated, do your research. Sometimes the best photos come from those who do not work with us so intimately. Their eye carries a different perspective.
