I know that some of you have been worried about me.
You don't need to, I'm OK.
It really wasn't that big a deal.

If you haven't heard, I made the mistake of getting close to a girl I met at a hotel last week.
She told me that she was in a bad situation and I really I thought I could help.
I've never been through anything like it myself, but I know it goes on.
All of us in this lifestyle do.

I've already been told by everyone how "silly", and "reckless", and "stupid", and "dangerous" it was.
I'm sure you'll tell me again.
But don't I get some credit for trying to do the right thing?
I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one who would have done it either.

You can call me naive but she seemed totally sincere.
I didn't she'd run off with all my things.
Phone. - computer - wallet - ID
No computer.
No credit cards.
No Id.
She even took my room key-card.
I guess she needed it all more than I did.
Lol

Thank God for Fedex, Visa, Paypal and good friends.
I was able to replace everything in a couple of days.
I was stranded but at least it was at a four start hotel.
And room service was great.

My laptop won't do her/them any good.
And I never keep screening info after the screening is done.
So if their plan was to reach out to my contatcts that won't work for 'em either.

I didn't report it what happened.
I'm not going to.
Not because of who I am.
But because I think she has enough problems already.
I still hope that in the end she's OK.

Anyway, everything is fine with me.
Life goes on.
You live and you learn.

I'm going to stay close to home for a while.
I'll try this again soon  but I don't know for sure when.

In the meantime Happy Thanksgiving

XoXoXoXoXo,

Chloe

If you have a caring heart, chances are someone will be there to break it.  Been there, done that, just like you, someone took advantage of my naivety and made me feel dumb... But the truth is that it will probably happen again, bc despite all the bad, I know that I'm not a person who turns his back, that's more important than my stolen laptop... Be proud of who you are baby!

You sound like a really beautiful and caring person.
Its her loss to loose a person like you.
You are much more valuable as her friend and your friendship and befriending her was priceless.

Its good to know you are getting back on your feet.
Very touching story.

First I am sorry for your lost items and damage to your psyche vai your trust in people destroyed.  You know the saying, "no good deed goes unpunished".
Now to the important message: You need a police report immediately to stop the use of your credit cards, ID theft etc.  With the credit cards stolen, she can access your personal data via the magnetic strip on the back and obtain all info, DOB, SS, Address, true name etc.
They sell this info or the card to people that then go and get cards under your name, loans, mortgages, leases,  false DMV docs etc.
I had been a victim of ID theft and with the police report I was able to stop an potential fraud.  I immediately had my credit report cleared, statement placed on my credit report indicating a victim of fraud and theft so no instant credit can be issued at stores.
Its about your protection, no her sorry state of affairs.
Protect yourself the way you protect yourself with potential and present clients.

You sound like a very nice person, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I give you kudos for being the bigger person in this situation as well.

I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving!

I agree with Whitelightening... Is is very important that you file a official report and notify the three credit reporting agencies
(Experian, Equifax and Transunion) that your identity was compromised. You can place an extended alert on your credit files which would require any one who is extending you credit, opening an account, making an inquiry etc to alert you directly. Happened to me to and learned the hard way. You are go to one of the agencies websites and navigate your way around
Good luck and take care

ID theft services such as Lifelock etc do not protect you as advertised in major cities with high crime such as NYC, LA, MIA, Dallas, LV.  Read the fine print on their claim of 1 million dollar protection.  Excludes all major cities since crime is so high in those areas. Some of the credit card companies such as Discover has an excellent service and they actually monitor the activity on all your personal info.  Just have to be willing to open up to the reputable non advertised security service firms.
Act quickly and get a police report.
Never have to actually state you know the person who victimized you, just claim you were pick pocketed for the ID theft items and possibly chaulk up the personal items loss to lifes experiences that turn bad. It is pick pocket time in major cities due to shopping and crowds.
You have survived in the biz for quite some time so no one needs to tell you how bad things can get when ID theft occurs.
Start the process of protecting yourself.  In the internet, high speed electronic world your info has been sold dozens of times overseas already so block their actions.
