Amazon gift cards

Anyone paid for services with Amazon gift cards? I've never sent one or used one. Recently started following someone and charge with Amazon gift cards for meetups. I'm asked to pay before the meeting.. which already sounds like a scam but she said if she didn't show I can easily cancel it. Thoughts?

... it's very common to pay a 25% deposit in advance.... I'm not sure if that's what you're asking about.... some providers charge up to  100% for short notice cancellations.
In my opinion I would listen to your gut feeling. ... I hope that helps.

to accept the entire gift on a gift card. If it's legit, the provider might be on to something. Of course if it isn't legit, the provider is on to something too.

If I were you, I'd offer to pay a deposit on the gift card and settle the rest in person.

I paid the deposit to a provider with electronic Amazon gift card once, she never showed and there is not much I can do, since she spent it before the appointment date. One reason I try to avoid providers with deposit requirement.
