There's a guy by the name of Mark D. with using a 772 and/or a 310 area code who's posing as a TV publicist and casting director.

He first tried to bait me with an opportunity to be on "The Apprentice" or in "Playboy". After getting me on the phone he sent me an email to a really lame website that obviously had no affliation to NBC, Playboy or any other name  he seemed to be dropping. It appears that it was more of a scam to get people to pay him to get them on "Jeopardy" and "Wheel Of Fortune". I can't say for sure.

What I can say for sure is that when I called him (very much on time) for our early morning appointment he began with his pitch again. When I told him I needed more information and that I questioned if reality TV was a great creative venue or forum for me he fell completely silent. I let him sit in silence knowing he was bogus and wanting to see where he'd go next. Finally, after about 15 seconds, he said he was busy today and that things weren't going to work out. When I asked him if he had been trying to pull a fast one on me all this time (and he did take A LOT of phone time) he retorted with a huffy, "F*ck You" and slammed the phone down on me.

I don't know what's more offensive? - that people try to get over on us like this, that they think we're so stupid that they can or that they curse at us like its our fault when we figure them out. It infuriates me!

PS. The silly little web site was my first red flag. The second was the crappy hotel he was trying to recruit me to. I'm fairly certain NBC execs can afford something nicer than a boutique hotel buried way up on the Upper West Side.

PPS. He uses TER and Eros as a source for his spam/scam and his email reads like this....

I am with the office of (sensitive info) Productions and (sensitive info) in Los Angeles.

Sorry you missed the group auditions.  We offered a lot of information (sensitive info) and cast many shows.   We are finalizing casting for New York.  We are currently casting most of the “reality” shows and game shows on television and new shows scheduled for the fall season.  In addition, we are producing shows, some in the local markets (like New York) outside of Los Angeles.

And we are pleased to announce we are back in New York City casting reality show and TV game show contestants on Saturday, Sept 28th and 29th.

As you may know, we are casting models, actors, actresses and magazine models. You may feel free to review some of our "Reality" girls in August’s edition of Maxim Magazine.

You also may have heard advertised that the game shows, talk shows, dating shows, court shows and group reality shows want us to recruit  performers and we are looking for more talent as actors, contestants, and spokesmodels also.

We have set-up a personal one-on-one meeting with you and a producer on September 28th and 29th appointment times are hourly from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.  For location information and to reserve a spot you must e-mail us, as we are only holding a limited number of audition appointments.&n bsp; If you are interested, please call (sensitive info) to schedule an appointment.

Good Luck and we look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely,

And get notes similar to them all the time, I just never bother to respond, assuming they are bogus or just someone wasting time.  Thanks for the heads up, glad you caught on before trekking uptown and glad to see my @$/?(*@$* radar was working on this one.

.....however he got brave enough to try to reach out and touch someone.

I was never interested in the TV bit but he did tempt with an appointment. I figured I had time available. Why not follow through with my promised AM phone call?

Laney, you did well to post to us your first note.  If it wasn't for those fools out there pulling these stunts, we all could relax and enjoy the activities more.

Your thumbnails work fine, so don't let people try to change anything you are doing.  When I meet a lady, I want her to be totally at ease.  That makes the encounter all the more enjoyable for both parties.

lol

[Edited just enough so that nobody will whine about it. ;) thirsty]

Mark D. to me:
You are a c*** and a wh*** with a cheap $350 p***y.  I'm glad I didn't spend any money on you.

Me to Mark D:
You don't have any money to spend on this classy, courtesan worth every dollar of the 350.00 I ask for.

Seriously doubt you'll get far recruiting the kind of girls you said you needed for your so-called reality shows with that kind of attitude.

Hee hee. He's making me laugh at this point!

Too many whackos taking exception to what I viewed as a simple informational thread. Laney, I appreciate your making us aware of the incident.
