Damn..I love how yanks wanted tampa to forfeit a game to them...how friggin desperate for wins can you get? LOL good for Bud Selig for telling yanks to kiss his ass and say no way. Yanks you should feel really low right now.

Quite the opposite...

Fans were first told a delay until 3:00 PM...after first being told 1:00PM...game didn't start until 7...so many had to wait 8 hours in their seats to finally watch the game...
Tampa could have gotten a chartered plane out since Sunday night.
They showed up 45 minutes before the delayed start of only one game. The fans that had plans to see the second game did not see any baseball at all so as usual the fans suffer and the Yanks
made a forfeit request for their mutual benefit.

From what I understand,The Yankees gave out free soda and hot dogs(Pretty classy) as the fans hung around to eventually see the Yanks win.

El Duque looked great and A-ROD batted second and had a key hit.
There is plenty of great basesball left.

Cheers!

...the regular season.  In their minds, they're automatically entitled to the pennant.  So, it's not surprising they can't figure out why a hurricaine would delay the Rays.  Like Von Ryan said, there's still plenty of great baseball to be played.  But, it's going to be played by the Red Sox!  Go Sawx!

Common VR! ;)

The forfeit request was a classless, self-serving move by the Yanks. This time of year, fans often wait at the park for extended periods because of rain delays. No disrespect to the Yankees fans, but do you really believe that this request was made on your behalf? The Yankees players may not be feeling the pressure but King George sure is! ;)

The free food was classy but it's been done before. The Patriots gave a free tail gate party this year to season ticket holders because of the conditions at last year's December game against the Dolphins. The Patriots...now there's a class organization! Note to Yankees Management, win the games on the field. That's the way it should be!

"Bob DuPuy, baseball's chief operating officer, said the other game will be rescheduled, possibly during the remainder of the series, which runs through Thursday. The Yankees threatened to refuse to make up the game this week."

Will Yankees Management stand on principle and refuse to make up this game? We'll see.

and let's face it...they were supposed to play two...

so what's to become of the second game that was supposed to be played?...

My point is that something was not right that the Yankees had
to cancel the second game at or about 3 PM when the stadium was full with fans and others were preparing to come and see the Yankees/Tampa Bay second game....outcome is that the fans get screwed...as the fan's time is just as valuable as the players.

Both teams general managers are only a phone call away
so there has got to be some reason theywaited till
3:00 PM gametime to inconvenience everyone.

Cheers!

As a huge Yankee's fan and season ticket holder I am getting sick of this!!  When the Red Sox actually win something other than playing in an early fall golf outing will someone please let me know.

Come on-  Do you forget 1978- Bucky Dent, 1986- Mookie Wilson, 2003- Aaron bleeping Boone.  Oh and then their is the Babe himself.

Talk to me when the Red Sox win it all!!

I will be talking to you in October LOL.... If the Sox keep up the way they are playing.

Disclaimer: I am now, and have always been a HUGE Met fan... So it is in the unwritten law of the Met fan to take every and all opportunity to make fun of, or put down, the best team in Baseball, Thank You,

Less we not forget what happened when Thurman died in the plane crash.  The entire team flew out to Ohio for the funeral; the ONLY THING the league AND 'then' commissioner said was, "IF YOU DON'T MAKE IT BACK IN TIME, YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR GAME".

Face it, the commissioner Bud Selig, like the revenues the Yankees generate, but does not like the Yankess and will VOTE AGAINST THEM AT EVERY oppurtunity.

If he ever shows his face at the stadium....give him a good ol' Bronx JEER and let him know, that we know, how he really feels about the Yankees.

Then you should have...
FYI - the Devil Rays were "ASKED" by major league baseball on Friday to leave after the game or on Saturday. The players had enough time to take themselves and their families out of Florida for the duration. The Devil Rays said nothing but decided to stay. This was a matter strictly of the Tampa Bay owner hating Steinbrenner - nothing else.
If it were your team - would you want an additional game after the end of the season to help determine outcome? especially when it could have been played before? (The chances of playing a doubleheader here Wednesday may be difficult because of the weather)

I actually abhor Selig - just because he doesn't belong in that position as an owner...

For a team that has won nothing since the early 1900's, the Red Sox fans are talking alot of crap.

To bad that every year the Sox "CHOKE". This year won't be any different. The RedSox motto will always be "There's always next year". :)

LOL Yankee fans...If i were you I would stop living in the past with ur 1918, buckydent crap...and focus more on the present and future of your "great" team. All yanks can do now is spew the same old past crap..because they cannot defend how shitty thier team is playing in the 21st century. BTW I love how yankee fans try to turn the tables on tampa and try to make them out to be the bad guys in this situation. This hurricane is decimating florida..already more than 10 people have lost their lives...and could climb...if u recall mlb cut yanks some slack after 9-11...so dont bitch and whine about tampa having trouble getting their on time. The yankee organization has really shown what they are really all about..selfish, greedy and totally no class whatsoever. go yankees    yay
